Chapter 42

Jungkook's POV

I wanted to get her mind off of things and since she had been inside the mansion for so many months, I wanted to bring her to some place she would like and enjoy.

"Yeri, I have a surprise for you," I announced as I went inside the kitchen where she was cooking dinner for us.

She turned around with a smile.

"Hi, Jungkook. You're home early tonight," she said.

I nodded and walked towards her as she stood with wide open arms and an even wider smile.

I walked straight into her arms and she wrapped them around me as I did the same with her. I buried my head in her neck and inhaled her as I spun her around a little.

It was moments like these where I didn't feel like a monster. She made me a better man. She brought out the best from within me. With her, suddenly I was the luckiest, the happiest man in the world.

And all of this surprisingly felt so good to me. Holding her. Kissing her. Cuddling with her. Calling her name. Coming home to her arms. Talking to her. Seeing her smile and talk about little stuff that made her happy.

We parted from the hug. I kissed her on the forehead and she smiled.

"What's the surprise?" she asked eagerly.

I chuckled.

"Guess."

She pouted and shook her head like a little kid.

"I can't," she whined. "Tell me already."

"Okay, okay. So, we are taking a trip to the Hawaii. Since you have been here for a long time, I figured it would be best we took a few days' trip to there and spend some time together."

Her eyes lit up at the mention of that.

"OMG, yes, we should totally do that. I'm so excited," she said with squeals. "When will we go?"

"Three days from now. That is enough days for us to pack and for me to see to everything so we can have a good time without any interruptions."

She nodded enthusiastically and threw her hands around my neck, pulling me in for a hug.

"Go change. I'm gonna continue making dinner. We can watch a movie tonight if it's fine with you."

"Sounds good," I said.

I leaned in to give her a little peck on the cheek and then exited the kitchen to go upstairs. Once upstairs, I brought out a fresh pair of clothes from my closet and went to the bathroom to take a shower.

After cleaning up and wearing clean, comfortable clothes, I got out of the bathroom. A few minutes later, I made my way down the stairs.

Yeri was still in the kitchen so I decided to go there and see if she was done.

When I entered, I was met with the heart-warming sight of Yeri laughing with one of the maids. Even the maid looked elated as she saw Yeri laugh.

I couldn't help but smile at the sight. She had every single person around here captivated. I stood there for a few moments but when the maid saw me, she greeted me respectfully and excused herself.

Yeri turned to me with a smile as I strode towards her.

She indulged into her cooking once more and I back hugged her. She fit my arms so perfectly, as if she was made to be inside them.

I put my chin on her shoulder and I could see her smile.

We stayed like that for a few minutes as Yeri finished her cooking.
