Yeri's POV

I stepped out of the plane and inhaled the air, closing my eyes for a few moments. After collecting my luggage, I walked out of the airport and hailed a taxi to bring me to my home.

As the car drove around the roads, I couldn't help but look around this place. It was beautiful as it had always had been. Everything was still the same how I had left it three years ago.

But when I had left this country - my country - I had been a person I did not recognize anymore. I had changed, but at the same I hadn't. Or rather, my heart and mind had changed.

The cab dropped me at my home.

I hadn't had the guts to sell it out so I had just locked it and told the neighbors to keep a check on it from time to time.

Now as I stepped inside, memories filled me from what life had always been. From my childhood till the time I had lived here in Seoul.

I smiled. Home. I was finally home.

My life had shifted when I lived in the States. I worked at a famous clothing brand as one of their fashion designers. I had a completely different life there from the one I had in Korea.

My lifestyle had changed, my preferences and my priorities had changed. My choices, my decisions had changed. My views, my opinions had changed.

I returned to Korea a completely different person from the one I had been before. I had even more confidence than I did before. I cared for everyone, but I cared for nobody's views. I knew what my goals were. I understood everything better. I cherished everything in life and saw the bright side to everything, but also accepted both the bad and the good.

During my time at the States, Taehyung and his wife, Ha-Ri had visited me many times as well. And it turned out, we became pretty good friends in no time.

When Taehyung would visit the States, he would bring his wife along with him. There were times when he would be busy for days so Ha-Ri would stay at my place and we'd have the best time ever.

I would take her to my company, we would have sleepovers and dinner and lunch dates; sometimes a girls' night out, or a spa day or we'd just shop together.

She was like the sister and best friend I had never had.

Since she was a professional photographer there were numerous times she would visit different places around the globe when she got the chance, which gave her many chances to visit and stay with me for days even when Taehyung didn't come.

Once she had come for a model shoot, for a week. Third day of her being there, we found out she was pregnant. Taehyung was coming two days later too and she decided to surprise him.

When he had finally come and had met his wife, she had broken out the news to him. I was secretly making a video of them. The way his eyes had filled with happy tears and the way he had lifted her up and had kissed her, it was so fulfilling it made me grin until my cheeks hurt.

Nine months later, they had twins; a baby boy and a girl.

They had shown me pictures and I had practically seen them both grow up, on the video calls. They'd be happy when I'd call or when their parents would call, always calling me "Yeri aunty."

I had met them only once, when Taehyung and Ha-Ri had visited for some time off work. They had visited me as well and I had been so delighted to meet the little kids; two Taehyungs and Ha-Ris running around my house.

Now they were almost two years old and I had promised them I would visit them when I was in Korea.

I settled inside my home and then went to greet my neighbors after a while. I had told them I was coming so they had arranged a party at night, which I told them wasn't necessary but they had insisted.

Most of the things in our neighborhood were still the same. But some of the families had left while new ones had shifted. The kids were now grown up. There had been a few deaths as well but life always went on.

After I was done meeting and being welcomed back by everyone, I left for my home. The party would start in a few hours and I needed to get everything ready.

But first, I would be taking a well deserved sleep. So, I put on my alarm and after changing, I went to sleep.

When I woke up, it was almost dark. I was certainly fresh, fresher than I had been this morning after arriving. I took a shower, wore some new clothes, did my hair and my makeup, and then I set out for the home the party was being held at.

I had a great time there. I enjoyed myself. Although we had remained in touch when I was at the States, we still had a lot to talk about. I told them everything I had done and planned to do. They were happy for me and for the first time in three years, I felt at home. I felt content with where I was.

After the party was over, all of us left for our homes one by one. I thanked everybody for making my life and my arrival special and it kind of made me emotional too. But I was happy.

Once I got home, I was so tired I didn't even change and fell asleep with my makeup and my sandals on.

《》《》《》《》《》《》《》《》《》《》《》《》

I was woken up by the loud ringing of my phone.

To say that I was annoyed would be an understatement.

Whoever had disturbed my sleep had a death wish.

But when I picked up the call, my mood instantly went from annoyed to happy.

"Hey, babe," came a cheerful voice from the other side.

"Hey, you should be thankful I love you or else you'd have been dead by now," I said, earning me a laugh from the other side.

"Lemme guess, you were asleep."

"Heck yeah I was. I had a long flight."

"How does it feel being back here?"

"It feels nice," I said honestly.

"And how was the flight?"

"Tiring, and I missed you a lot."

"I know right, who can't miss me?"

I smiled and shook my head.

This was Ashley, one of my very close friends from the company I worked at.

Eight months ago, the CEO had decided to send some of their American staff to their newly opened branch in Korea. Ashley had been one of those people who had volunteered. She had always wanted to visit new places and Korea was one of them so when given the chance, she had taken it and was now working here at Korea.

"Anyways, I'm holding a party at my home this Friday night and you're obvi invited, Yeri," she said happily. "There will be food, alcohol, music, fun, dance and men."

"Text me your address and I'll be there."

"Great, I'll send it to you," she said.

After a few more minutes of talking, we hung up. As I couldn't seem to fall asleep anymore, I decided to make breakfast for myself. After eating, I went out for a walk around the streets. I couldn't seem to keep the smile off my face.

I was home.
