Natalie's POV

"You sure you'll be okay?" I ask Alex as I dress up for the AMA's.

"I'll be okay babe. I'll be here with Christen and Elizabeth. Keeping me company." Alex says pecking my lips. "You know I could've stayed by myself right?"

"I don't want to risk anything. Just to be safe."

"You should definitely go out and have fun oh and support your sister and support Selena tonight. If you win an award awesome I'll be waiting for you here and watching you. If you don't win an award I'll still be waiting for you here and watching you through the TV screen. " Alex says tucking a strand of my hair behind my ear.

"I'm kind of nervous." I whisper to Alex. "Although I am excited to see Selena sing. She's healing."

"You had a big part with that." I hear Selena say from behind me. "You helped me write and produce my album, well many albums and songs and you even helped me with one of the most important songs to this day. And you did all that while having other priorities."

"Family is always a priority. You all know that."

I turn around to see Selena sitting down on the hotel couch as she munched on some snacks.

"You look beautiful." I say with a smile.

"You look good yourself." Selena says and I laugh.

"Are you guys ready? We need to go now." Taylor says as she opens the door. "Come on let's go."

I turn around to face Alex once again, a smile on her face as she hugs me.

"I'm proud of you babe. So proud of you."

"I didn't even do anything?" I say confused. "But thank you?"

"Humble humble Natalie." Selena says as she walks out. "We'll be waiting for you outside."

"Go and have fun. I love you." Alex says and I smile. I lean down to kiss her and I smile in the kiss.

"I love you." I whisper then turn to Lizzie and Christen. "Take care of her please, call me if anything happens."

"We got her don't worry." Lizzie says and I smile.

"Thank you."

I walk out of the room and head out to meet Taylor and Selena outside as we're all about to head towards the car.

Me: If I win the award tonight will we talk then?

S. Bronze: Try and win todays nomination and then we'll start to talk. Only if you win. If not, then there's nothing to talk about.

Me: We'll talk after the show then.

"So are we ready?" I ask as I put my phone in my pocket.

"So ready." Taylor says laughing. "Come on."

"Are you ready? Are you okay? It's your first big appearance after the whole break up." I whisper as I open the door for both women.

"I'm fine. I won't lie it does still hurt. But it's nothing we haven't been through before. I still have you and that's all I need." Taylor says as she reaches for my hand. "You've been there every step, during every major scandal, every stupid rumor. You're what keeps me sane in this world. You're my sister and all I ever need and want is my sister. So as long as you're by my side I know I'll be okay."

"I'll always defend and protect you. I'll always be here."

"Every time I would get home and you'd be there I know I'd be okay. Just like when I went to your house when I released the statement, you just dropped everything and comforted me."
