Natalie's POV

"I reached out."

"To who? There's many people who pop into my mind, who could you have possibly reached out to." Taylor says as she walks out of the booth.

"The singer you told me about, the one you posted on your story."

"Really? Oh that's great! I'm glad. She has a wonderful voice and I think you two would work very well. Plus who else to help her than one of the best producers in the industry."

"Don't hype me up too much or else it'll go to my head and I do not want it to go to my head." I say as I open my second laptop. "She seems sweet, and all I want is for young artists to not go through what you did."

"Which is why I told you about her. She has a bright future, with you helping her, her career will be bright and long." Taylor says and I smile.

"To think I was going to retire from music as a whole." I say with a laugh as I work on my laptop.

"What?"

"Did I say that out loud? I wasn't supposed to, damn I'm sorry." I say waving her off.

"Back up, you were going to RETIRE? Why? Like why? Why? Why? Why? I don't understand." Taylor says as she sits on the couch that's behind me.

"Alex is training to get back into shape, I have a child. Alex needs as much support as she needs, if I'm working, how am I helping her? Although trust me, I'm still thinking about it. Plus it wasn't going to be a forever thing, it would've been for a little bit."

Taylor doesn't say anything, so I turn around to see her laying on the couch. Humming, she raises her hand up to signal that she listened but she's thinking.

I simply nod and turn back around as I continue working on my laptop.

"One day into this pandemic, you and I were already working. Bub, if you want to and need to, then do it. Your family, your wife and daughter. That comes first. Sure you have a career and many people want to work with you, myself included as usual. But if a temporary retirement is what you want to do and is something you need in order to support Alex, then do it." Taylor says as she lifts her head up.

"Alex doesn't want me to, she didn't want me to put my career at a halt. But I mean realistically, her career will be over way before mine and I'm not telling her that because that sounds so unsupportive on my part. You'll keep making music until you die, and I can help, always. But her body, can only go so far into the sport."

"You talked about this with Alex? Like a good conversation?"

"Yes. But she doesn't want me to, she says people will hate her for it. I insisted that I should, she said no. It's no one's business on the decisions we make."

"Exactly. It's no one's business on why you decide to temporarily step away from music. It's your decision, and if they say something stupid then I'll kill them all."

"Well I can't step away now, we have stuff do. I have stuff to do."

"You can push it back for a few months. Three at least."

"Once this is finished, maybe. Possibly."

A knock on the door grabs my attention, I walk over and open it. Alex holding Charlie in her arms as she looked at me.

"Is everything okay? We're almost done here. You can leave Charlie with me and you can go take a nap or do whatever you want. I know we've been spending too much time here."

"That's my fault. Sorry Al." Taylor says and Alex waves her off.

"You're fine. We wanted to join. What are you guys working on?"
