Friday was all about clubs presenting themselves to everyone to gain members. All kinds of clubs were there categorized into academic, sports, and music and arts clubs.
Drix told me to try out for the soccer team and join them. Their dreams of having me in the team were crushed when I tried kicking a ball but I almost fell instead.
On the other hand, I don't want to join academic clubs because I don't want to spend more time doing academic things in my free time. Technically, our band is one of the official bands of the school. That was set in stone when they won the Battle of the Bands last year.
"There was a Battle of the Bands?" I asked Santi, surprised.
"There was." He grinned smugly. "And we won."
Now that I'm a part of their band, any competitions in the future, I'll be there. So, technically I'm in a club.
Aside from tryouts, all classes were canceled for campus tours. The junior high department is open for us senior highs and vice versa. The three toured me around the school after they finished morning tryouts for soccer. They're already part of the club, they're just there to help choose who can join.
I've been to most parts of the school but it's helpful not getting lost after they toured me around. Not that I'm planning to go around the school alone though.
After our tour, we had to go back to our departments to help with this seminar thing? I don't know. Basta it's about presenting what our strand is to the junior high since the application will be open by November.
As president and vice president of our class, Santi and I were part of the committee.
"I hate this," I mumbled, waiting for the next line of junior high students so I could give them pamphlets.
Santi, who's beside me with the same task, laughed. "Just a few more minutes. May papalit na sa'tin."
"If 'di kasi ako president ede wala ako dito," I said, giving him a glare.
"Buti nga vice president ako para kasama mo 'ko." He clapped my shoulder with a huge smile. "Cheer up ka nalang. Kasama mo naman ako."
I made a face mocking him. He laughed again because of that. But then we have to fix our posture and expression again because the junior highs were here.
We were scheduled to perform in the afternoon in the quadrangle, out in the open. This job with the seminar lasts only until ten. When that time finally came and the next people who'll take our job arrived, Santi and I are free. They were already preparing the stage so while we still had nothing to do, Santi suggested we go around visiting some of the booths the student council prepared.
After having a snack in one of the booths, Santi stopped in another booth. We read the sign and it said 'Write a Letter for Your Future Self!'
