Marcella pulled her friend in a warm, gentle hug. Sometimes it's all that we need a long hug where we forget about what is happening around us for a minute and a person who could genuinely cares about our inner battles and is willing to listen to all the stories we've buried inside ourselves, the stories of the war that we fought alone some we lost but some we won.
"You know what? Marcella, they say that I'm extremely good with words." She pulled herself back from the hug "But honestly, I think I'm not?"
Marcella wiped her tears."Why do you think so? You are the best. Don't say that."
Aurora took some moments to respond, she lowered her head struggling to speak as she had caught a lump in her throat. Marcella sat there with patience, she was utterly devastated by her best friend in the state she was in. The thought that a jubilant girl who always used to be cheerful every time, who used to cheer people up by preaching how adventurous life is, being impatient about what life has for her in the future ended up grappling to live was making it hard for her to hold back her tears. As much as she hated to see Aurora crying she just wanted to stay strong and listen to her, listen to each word that was buried inside her due to the battle she fought with herself making her heart nothing more than a graveyard that has lost its will to live.
"If I was really good then I would have been able to make them understand how I feel so that they could save me from this sound of silence which feels like a good friend initially but as the bond tightens it gets unbelievably dangerous making us lose our true selves," Aurora explained,
Marcella no longer could hold her tears back, she held her friend closer "Look at me Aurora. You are not alone." She sniffled between words "You are no longer alone. Did you get that? You are going to do whatever you want to without worrying about anything. It must have taken a lot of courage to go through this but listen to your instinct once. Trust me, your parent wants the best for you and they'll be very chucked to see you happy. Don't lose hope and yes, like you always said life is too short so, be crazy, be stupid, be weird, and be whatever you want because it's your life."
"I love you." Aurora felt grateful to have her best friend on her side who supported her emotionally which she believed lacked in her generation as everyone in her life had always claimed to be by her side but when she was in need she couldn't find anyone besides her except for her best friend today.
"I love you more,," Marcella replied.
"So, an argument you mean?" Both the girls laughed remembering how they used to argue over who loved each other more when they were kids.
"Show me your writing. I'm so curious to read it." Marcella jolted her in excitement.
"Unfortunately, the notebook is in my dorm." She informed sadly but a sudden wave of realization hit her "ohh wait." Aurora started looking among the papers she had and finally took out a page handing it to Marcella "here you go."
Marcella was chuffed to see her friend's perfect writing which he has always been a fan of " your handwriting, omg." to which Aurora laughed.
Marcella read the poem,
Strange isn't it?
In this world, she'll never fit,
They say happiness will find you
But that's not always true. She wonders if she's the only one
Who feels that with her life she's done,
She doesn't know how to explain what she feels
Because the words will not be enough for her to heel. She just feels too alone
The reason to her is unknown,
It's not that someone has betrayed her
Maybe life isn't in her favor. She still smiles, laughs, and talks with people
She's clueless about her mind being so unstable,
She looks in the mirror and doesn't like what she sees
The tears always fall while she's falling asleep. It feels like she's gasping for air
But no one around her really cares,
She doesn't how to open up
Without feeling judged. She hurts and she cries
But you can't see the pain in her eyes,
Although she has been sad for a while
She knows that she'll soon find a reason to smile.
-AuroraMarcella looked up at her best friend with raised eyebrows and widened eyes. "Who wrote this?" She questioned.
"Are you blind?" Aurora sarcastically replied. "Can't you see my name written there?" She pointed out her name written on the piece of paper Marcella was holding.
"Maybe someone else has written this and you just wrote your name without giving them credit." Marcella rolled her eyes, trying to mess up with her.
"Shut up." Aurora gently pushed Marcella back and she started chuckling.
"On a serious note Aurora, this is alluring. So amazing. I'm just at lack of words." Feeling happy and proud of her best friend Marcella continued "How do you even write all this?"
"Thank you so much." Aurora expressed her gratitude. "I just write down what I feel."
"My super talented best friend. I'm so much proud of you. I want to see more of your writings." Marcella handed the paper back to her.
"Let's go to my dorm. Honestly, I'm so excited to show you." With excitement clear in her voice and eyes, Aurora told.
(A/N: Heyy guys, I hope you are doing great. I wrote that poem two years ago so please don't judge hahaha. I hope you have a great day/night/afternoon ahead xoxo)
