Louis's POV:

"I've told Adeline to bring Marcella." Liam spoke as our coffees were being served.

Liam leaned closer to me as the girl who was serving walked away whispering "that girl was literally smiling at you for the whole time we've been here."

"Shut the fuck up Liam. We have got serious issues to discuss. Better
control your teenager hormones or I'll kill them."

He went back to his normal position. "Don't you think Marcella has been very distant to us since we got here?"

I mean he's not wrong.

"This is the place where she grew up with her people around and it's obvious to get lost in something you love no matter how miserable it gets. If we'll be back to London I bet we'll act the same as her." I tried to explain to him.

He started nodding his head in agreement to my statement "but you know" his gaze shifted to me "I really miss London. Yeah, this place is fun and cool but I miss the streets of London, I miss how mum always waited for us to get back home from school, I miss spending time as a family, I miss our games with dad. I miss home. That place felt like some other normal place until I can't reach there anymore now it feels like heaven. No matter how far I'm gone I'm always free to run home."

I miss everything, mom and dad too. It drives me crazy to think how your life can turn upside down and all you can do is just watch it happening then you are left with two options: either give up on whatever life is throwing at you and die or gradually try to be resilient and face it without caring about the results. As much as I miss my home, it's my responsibility to save the lives of the people who gave life to me. I wonder what they look like. Headmaster said I look like my dad. I want to witness all the similarities I have acquired from my parents. I want to see the beautiful lady who carried me inside her whom I'm an integral part of. It scares me to think about the moment I'll meet them. How will I react? My heart starts pounding just at the thought.

"Louis?" Liam pulled me out of my thoughts.

"Hmm." Was all I replied.

"Do you know? The students here aren't allowed to go there due to security threats. Adeline told me that the authorities believe that they are safest here." My brother informed me.

"Bullshit. I wonder how they are going to inform the families of deceased children…"ohh hey, we know we said that your child will be safest here but someone murdered them but hey, they'll be the safest under God's arm?" I was outraged. "Houses that were once full of lights and hopes and laughs and happiness and fun are now abandoned and just sitting there, full of distant memories and echoes of long forgotten laughs. And these so-called authorities are letting children die." My heart was on fire, I could feel the heat all over my body just when my eyes fell on Marcella and Adeline. Seeing her makes me feel better, my heart was gradually calming when I noticed the coat on her body. I had seen it somewhere. My mind replayed the moment for me for the clarity that it's Zayn's overcoat. I felt a sudden pang in my chest as if someone had stabbed me straight in my heart. I feel betrayal although we have never been together. Maybe my mind feels betrayed by my heart who made this whole thing up, who had commenced calling her it's home but the reality is I am the day craving for the moon forgetting that it only belongs to night.

"Hey." Both the sisters sat opposite to me and my brother when Liam greeted them.

"Hey." Adeline replied and Marcella tried to fake a smile. Yeah it's fake. It's scary how I understand her better than I understand myself. Her diamond like eyes weren't shining but a bit swollen. Maybe she cried. I wonder if everything's alright?

Shut the fuck up, my brain commanded.

"What are we here for?" Adeline asked. "And thanks for the coffee, by the way." He added.

"So, there's been a lot of killing in the school as you are already aware." I shifted my mind to focus on the issue we have gathered her for.

"Yeah. That's sad." Adeline spoke while Liam and Marcella carefully listened to me.

"I think we really need to find out the reason and do something about it or these authorities will let us die." Everyone's eyes are on me.

"I agree." Liam spoke. "We know this is happening for months and they are so irresponsible that they couldn't even figure out the reason."

"No. I think they know." My brain recalled the moments with the headmaster. "Headmaster warned me a few days back saying that this could be a sign that Alec is back and he's trying to warn us that he knows that I'm here."

"That's utter nonsense." Marcella interrupted. "Why would he wait for you to warn? When he knows that you are already here he would just directly try to kill you, not the other student." She has got a point. "And I've been a victim of him and I know that something isn't right with him because the way my senses and feelings were back to my control unexpectedly and I managed to escape that place which was nearly impossible. I'm sure I'm not the only one."

"I wish we could go back in time and ask the students who murdered them." Adeline took a sip of coffee, attracting everyone's attention to her.

"When you start making sense, the sun will rise in the west." I took a sip of my coffee while Liam and Marcella laughed. I looked up at Adeline who had frowned then at Marcella whose smile was the cure of my every problem. I felt good that I can make her laugh.

Fuck! I'm becoming so clingy or cringe maybe.

"Guys, I was just joking." Adeline declared. "On a serious note, I think the library can give us more information than anyone else."

"Yeah." Marcella agreed to her sister. "There are a lot of books which can help us. I'm sure."

"So, let's go then?" Liam sought everyone's permission to which everyone agreed. All of us grabbed our coffee and headed to the library.

Liam and Adeline were walking ahead of me and Marcella. Adeline was hitting Liam on some remark he passed while Liam laughed loud at it. He seems more perky around her. I know she makes him happy and you can really tell just by the way Liam looks at her as if she's the most fascinating thing his eyes has ever seen.

"Hey, you seem off today." I tried to initiate conversation with Marcella to cease the complete silence between us.

"Uhh, I just had an argument with one of my friends. It's nothing serious." She tried to play it cool but she's very bad at it.

"Well, that sucks. We'll not talk about it, okay?" I tried to have a healthy conversation which I'm very bad at.

"That has to be the best offer in the whole universe right now." She giggled.

"I mean the best one has the ability to do so." I sarcastically replied.

"Yeah. You've been really best in the eyes of the girls around the campus. I understand the pride." She joked.

"What are your hobbies?" I tried to change the topic because I don't know what to say next.

"Does sleeping count?" She laughingly asked.

"No."

"Ooh, But it's my only hobby. I love to sleep. It's the most relaxing thing ever." She told me.

"I guess being kind is your hobby." She rolled her eyes on my statement with a smile on her face.

"You are bad with jokes."

"Are you sure? You should ask your sister about it." I laughed when she hit me mockingly. "But I wasn't joking." I added as we reached the second floor of the main building to go to the library. "You are too kind."

"You make it sound like a problem." She replied.

"It is." I said seriously when we reached the gate of the library where our siblings were already waiting for us for a couple of seconds now.

(I hope y'all liked it! Have a great day/afternoon/night xoxo)
