When They Cross Paths

"Baba...Baba.."...Dhiraj Kaka knocks on Sidharth's door..

"Haan?"...he responds groggily..

"Uthiye, aapko shooting par jana hai na?"

"Hmm..".

"Main nashta leke ajaun andar?"

"Nehi, aap bahar wait kijiye..I am coming.."...he replies taking turns on his bed to wake up..

"Theek hai ajaiye.."..Dhiraj Kaka leaves..

Sidharth Shukla, highly regarded Bollywood actor who has captured the hearts of the younger generation being the only heartthrob leading the industry. His acting skills are so impressive that people of all age groups find pleasure in watching him in every movie.

He comes out to have his breakfast..

"Baba..Madam ne kaha hai ki aap unko phone kare..shayed Kuch urgent hai."..informs Dhiraj Kaka..

"Hmm..I will"..he replies, scrolling down his mobile to go through the schedule for the day..

"Baba ek baat bolun?"

"Aap ko kab se permission chahiye Dhiraj Kaka?!"

"Lekin aap bura tou nehi manenge na?"..Kaka stumbles on his words to continue..

"Kya?"..Sidharth turns his face around to know what Kaka has to say further..

"Ab shadi kar hi lijiye Baba..meri zindagi ka kya bharosa..? Yeh tension sirf Madam ko nehi, balki mujhe bhi hai!"

Sidharth sighs..

"Kaka, relax! Aap medicines wagera theek se le rahe ho na? Aur Vikas leke gaya tha na aapko doctor k paas?"

"Jih haan beta..leke gaya tha..Lekin beta main jo bol raha tha.."

"Kaka! Abhi nehi please..".. Sidharth doesn't wish to continue the conversation..

"Theek hai chalo I am getting late. Bruno kaha hai? Subah se nehi dikha mujhe!"...Bruno is his pet dog..

"Niche hai, Mili k sath.."...Mili is Kaka's granddaughter..

"Mili kab aayi?"... Sidharth is very attached to Mili. He has been looking after the expenses of Dhiraj Kaka's entire family including the finances involving Mili's education.

"Abhi kuch der pehle..aap so rahe the tou Bruno ko leke garden chali gayi..subah se bol rahi thi ki aap k sath hi birthday celebrate karegi."..replies Kaka..

"What?! Aaj Mili ka birthday hai?!"

"Haan ji.."

"Shit! How come I forgot?! Kya Dhiraj Kaka aap bhi! Idhar udhar ki baatein karte rehte hai! Mujhe yaad dilana chaiye tha na aapko?!".. Sidharth gets up in a hurry to make his way to the garden..

"Bhaiya! Dekho na Bruno is being a good boy today!"...Mili gives him a warm smile as soon as he comes out..

"Happy birthday beta!"..he cups her face lovingly..

"Aap ko yaad nehi tha na?!"..Mili smiles mischievously..

"I would lie if I say NO..".. Sidharth replies back in the same manner..

"Pata tha mujhe, chalo koi baat nehi..aaj jaldi ajana, main, dadaji aur Bruno aap k sath dinner karenge.."

"Kyun? It's your special day! You should celebrate it with your friends!"

"Special hai isiliye aap k sath celebrate karungi!"

Sidharth gets overwhelmed seeing the affection this little girl shows towards him. He realizes how attached she feels around him.

"Kya chahiye tujhe? What should I bring for you?"...he lays his hand lovingly on her cheek..

"Kuch nehi Bhaiya, sab kuch tou de diya aapne!"..Mili is very mature and sensible for her age..

"Chal theek hai, milte hai sham ko!"... Sidharth gives out a warm smile and leaves..

"Areh wah! Look who is on time today!"... Monica Ahuja, Sidharth's bestie cum manager, has been with him for long now. They share a very unique bond which has been a subject to many controversies on multiple occasions!

"Hmm..jaldi jana hai..by evening. It's Mili's birthday.."

"Ok..should I call for the narration?"...asks Monica..

"Hmm.."..he makes his way towards the vanity, expecting to have a meeting with the entire team there..

"Hey Sid!"...Dhruv waves him a Hi, (the director of his upcoming movie)

"Dhruv! What's up!"..they shake hands..

"Nothing buddy! It's an honour having you here..!"...Dhruv exclaims!

"Uhh! Shut up! It's nothing like that! We almost started our career together!".. Sidharth tries to diffuse formalities..

"Haan lekin I have tried my luck in acting which unfortunately didn't work! Ab pata nehi yeh direction kis direction mein leke jaye!"

"Don't worry, script zabardast hai! Yeh film tou chalegi.."

"I hope too yaar!"..Dhruv leaves a satisfying exhale..

"Achha female lead is Disha, that new girl if I am not wrong?"..asks Sidharth.

"Hmm.."

"Honestly, I haven't seen her work Dhruv. And this is your first direction, my advice would be koi chance maat lena.."... Sidharth shows his concerns..

"Yaar, expectations kaam hai..but her audition was fine and affordable bhi hai, so perfect for my production.." Dhruv replies quite convincingly..

"Ok..by the way Dhruv, Script was good, who is this writer, didn't recognize her name!"..asks Sidharth curiously..

"Oh thats an interesting story. I discovered this girl while judging a script writing competition in Mohali. Although she didn't make it to the final round but I was impressed with her work and decided to collaborate with her, making a few adjustments along the way. And now, here she is with me today!"...it seems Dhruv already likes her..

"Achha background kya hai?"..asks Sidharth..

"Wahi usual problems for small town girls! Family was totally against her career, shadi karwa rahe the, ladki bhag k agayi Mumbai..Lekin talent tou hai is ladki mein.."..Dhruv affirms..

"Ok. Ek kaam kar usko bhi call karle..let's have a meeting with the entire team..".. Sidharth suggests..

"She is already here..let's go inside the vanity.."
