I finally reached it to Mystic Falls, I arrived in town square when I realized I had no idea where Alaric was. I closed my eyes and focused on the sound of his voice, it took a while but I finally figure out where they were. They were at the Salvatores grave. I raced my way over there to see everyone standing outside of it, looking at it with tears in their eyes.I finally made my way into the light so all of them could see me.
"Cassie, what are you doing here?" Jeremy asks, coming to me and giving me the biggest hug.
"Klaus told me what was going on." I said, looking at all of them, and then to the Salvatore's grave. "Is he in there?" I ask, looking back to everyone.
"Cass, he doesn't want to see you." Elena says.
"My dad is dying and you guys really thought I wouldn't come down here and say good bye to him." I said, walking towards the building. "He's seeing me whether he likes it or not." I said, entering the building.
I walked into the building to see Alaric sitting on the ground with a bottle of Borbon in his hand. He had his head down looking at the ground. I knew he was crying.
"Hey dad." I said, coming closer to him. His head instantly whips up to look at me.
"Cassie, what are you doing here? I thought I told them to keep you from coming." He says, looking behind me at the door.
"Dad you're dying. Did you really think I would come down here to see you one last time. You're crazy you know that." I said, going over to him and sitting down next to him. Taking the bottle from his hand and taking a swig from it.
"Why won't you just turn?" I ask, looking to him.
"Cassie, I don't want to end up like a monster, like Klaus. Eshter has plans for me when I turn. She's going to control me, and there is nothing you can do to stop it. I don' want to hurt you jellybean." He says, grabbing my hand and squeezing it.
"And I can't lose you." I said, breaking down into tears.
"Oh baby, you aren't going to lose me. I am always going to be a part of your life. Whether you like it or not. I'll be looking over you. Making sure you live your life and don't make any stupid decisions." He says, pulling me closer and hugging me tightly.
"I love you so much." I said, hugging him even tighter.
"I love you more jellybean." He says, returning the hug.
We stayed like this for a while until Damon walks in.
"Damon, please get her out of her." Alaric says to him.
"No, dad please." I said, looking at him with pleading eyes.
"Baby, it's for the best. I don't want you to be here when I die. Please leave, for me." He says.
I reluctantly shake my head and stand up taking Damons hand as he leads me outside where everyone still was. My first instinct was to run to Jeremy and burry my face in his chest. He takes me and holds me tight and pulls me away from the scene.
He pulls me deeper into the forest and lets me cry all my tears into his chest. Comforting me as much as possible through it all. I know he was sad about everything as well, but he knew that I needed him more then he needed me.
"Cassie." I heard my name and I turned around in Jeremys arms to see Damon in front of me. "Come on flower, we have to get you home."
"How do you expect me to go home when Alaric is in there dying." I said, pointing back to the Salvatore graves.
"Cassie, you have a family that is waiting for you back in Beacon Hills. They'll be expecting you. Things are going on there. They need you." Damon says, grabbing my arm from Jeremy.
"Dee. Please." I said.
"I'm sorry Cassie. I don't have a choice." He says, picking me up from the ground and carrying me bridal style. I looked around at all my friends and with that we were speeding away.
