Damons POV
I left Cassie's room, and walked to the living room. I saw Stefan by the fire, staring at it with a glass of bourbon in his hand.
"Hey Stefan." I said, letting him know that I was there.
"She's not going to flip it, is she?" He asks, looking away from the fire, and back to me.
"No." I said, looking at my brother, "I have to go to Beacon Hills, I have to tell her dad, it's the least I can do." I said.
"What are you going to tell him?" Stefan asks.
"I have no idea." I said. I look back to him, but he was looking at the fire again. I looked around not sure of what to do, until I speed away towards Beacon Hills. I knew where her dad would be, considering it was 3am over in California.
In 30 minutes I finally reached Beacon Hills. I got the the apartment complex, and made my way inside. I was walking towards the door, when I heard something from behind me. I turn around and see Cassie's dad, pointing a gun at me.
"What are you doing here?" He asks, not lowering the gun.
"What are you doing? It's like 3am, why aren't you sleeping?" I ask.
"I can't sleep, I'm worried about Cassie. Where is she?" He asks, still pointing the gun at me.
"Can we talk about this in private and not in the middle of the hallway." I said, looking around.
He finally remembers we are in a hallway, and lowers his gun, leading me towards his door.
He unlocks the door and steps inside, I start walking then remember that I have never been invited in, so I stopped waking and he noticed.
"Why did you stop walking?" He asks, turning around.
"Because I can't come in, unless I'm invited in. It's a vampire thing." I said, in a whisper, so we were not to wake Allison.
"Oh right, please Damon. Come in." He says, and continues walking.
I walk into the house, closing the door quietly. Before following Chris again. He lead me to the office, and pointed to a chair. I nodded and walked into the room, sitting in the chair, across from his. He closes the door, and walks to his chair.
"So, what's wrong with Cassie." He asks, looking at me.
"How much do you know about vampires?" I ask.
"Very little, I'm more of a werewolf person." He says.
"Well vampires have the ability to turn off their emotions, we call it flipping the switch. When they flip their switch their humanity turns off. They feel nothing, no remorse, no guilt, no sadness, nothing. They don't feel, and they don't care about anything." I said.
"What are you saying?" Chris asks, Although he knows exactly what I am trying to say,
"Chris, she flipped her switch. She turned off her humanity." I said. "She's ruthless without it."
"How can you turn it back on?" Chris asks.
"You can't, only she can. And she's very admit on keeping it off." I said, looking down at my hands.
"Why did she do it?" Chris asks, looking sad about his daughter.
"Alaric died, and so did Jay." I said.
"Alaric and Jay are dead?" Chris asks, almost not believing me.
"Yes, they both died. Jay died protecting Cassie." I said, hoping that would make things better.
"Will she be ok?" He asks.
"I promise you, she will be safe. I will look after her, and try to get her to turn back on her humanity." I said, which was the truth. I was going to look after her with my life, I have since I first met her.
"Thank you Damon." He says, then looks around his desk, finding a sticky note, and a pen, writing something down. "Heres my number. Please keep in contact with me incase anything happens to Cassie." He says, handing me the note.
"Thank you Chris, I'll keep in contact." I said, and began getting up. I was turning to the door when Chris began speaking again.
"Please, just get her to turn her humanity on." He says, hopeless at the situation.
"I will, trust me. I don't like her without her humanity." I said, and Chris gave a weak smile. I turn bac around and was leaving the apartment, when I looked over my shoulder and saw Allision, standing near the room, obviously she was listening in on the conversation.
"Don't worry kid, I'll bring her home." I said, and left the apartment. I heard her sigh out in relief when I said those words, she's obviously worried about her sister, which I get, seeing as she was my sister as well.
Chris POV
After Damon left, I got up from my seat in the office and went to head to bed. When I left the office I saw Allison standing off to the side, near her door.
"Did you here all of that?" I ask.
"Yes. What are we going to do?" She asks.
"There's nothing we can do Allison. She's a vampire, and her humanity is off. She's going to be ruthless, with no emotions. We should just leave it to the other vampires." I said, walking to her and pulling her into a hug.
"What are we going to tell Scott. We have to tell him." Allison says.
"I know kid. Don't worry about it. I will take care of it. Now go back to bed." I said, pulling away from the hug and giving her a kiss on her forehead. She smiles, turning around heading back to her room.
I let out a long sigh, and start heading towards my bed as well. All I can think about was my precious daughter and the things to come for her. I wish that she is safe.
