Andrew

Wednesday nights weren't busy so I typically was able to catch up on work, but tonight I was down a bartender so work would have to wait until tomorrow. I had my regulars come in. This bar has become my home. I mean, my apartment was above it.

This bar was my fathers although he was never in my life. In fact, he was never in any of my brothers' lives. I'm the baby, 33. I have two older brothers, Cody (35) and Colton (36). We all grew up here in Texas, but went away to college in metro areas. I went to Chicago, Cody to New York and Colton to California. Our dad walked out by the time I was born and we lived in a small town right outside of Dallas. Little did we know, he had three thriving businesses here in the heart of downtown Houston.

My father passed away three years ago leaving the bar to me, his gym to Colton and his convenience store to Cody. It was all on the same block. We all had the option to sell, but we all talked about moving back to Texas eventually. You know, settling down; wife, kids, raising them together. We took this as a sign and we've all been back ever since.

The Anderson brothers as we had been dubbed by the regulars. My brothers usually didn't pop up here unless I needed them. They had their own lives and business to run. We were still very close. We had dinner together every Sunday and visited our mama at the end of each month. She currently resided in Dallas and had no plans of coming to Houston.

The door swung open and this woman came in. She was absolutely beautiful. I looked to see if anyone else was with her, but she was alone. She came and took a seat at the bar.

"Good evening ma'am. What can I get you?"

"2 shots of Tequila and a Margarita on the rocks please."

Maybe she was getting drinks for her friends.

"Coming right up."

I turned my back to make her Margarita. I've been back in Texas for two years now and I don't forget a face. She reminded me of someone, but I couldn't place who. Maybe I'm losing my touch.

"Here you go."

I set the margarita down before pouring her the two shots she requested.

"Thank you."

I watched as she quickly tossed back the two shots. Looking closer at her, she looked familiar. I had seen her somewhere before, but I couldn't put my finger on it.

"If you take a picture, it'll last longer," she commented.

I chuckled.

"Sorry. You just look familiar. I've owned this bar for the past 3 years, but I've never seen you. You must be new to town."

"Not new to town, but I've been on TV a few times. You might've seen me there."

"What kind of TV? Commercials? Movies? Sitcom?"

She shook her head.

"WWE, NXT to be specific."

It dawned on me. That's exactly where I saw her.

"Wow. Lauren Legend in the flesh."

"Yeah, that would be me. You a fan?"

"I've always enjoyed WWE. Love what they're doing. Thought you were getting bumped up to the main roster."

Her eyes dropped.

"Yeah, I'm on a sabbatical. Don't know when or if I'll return."

"What? You're really good."

"You think so?"

"Without a doubt. You have this natural talent. Your finisher that you do, when you jump on the ropes and then spin and do a RKO, it's amazing."
