Lauren

I sat the bat back in the closet before going to open the door.

"Hello, officers. How may I help you?"

"Good afternoon, ma'am. We got a call for a noise complaint and are here to check things out. Is everything alright?"

"Sure is. Right babe?"

I glanced back at Carson who came over to me. I felt my skin crawl with how close he was to me, especially after he touched Shayna.

"All is good here officers, just moving things around. We're sorry for the noise. We'll be sure to keep it down.

They looked at us skeptically, but didn't say anything else.

"Well alright. You two take it easy and have a good afternoon."

"You as well. Thank you."

I gave the officer the best smile that I could muster before closing the door. I turned and Carson was still right on me.

"Move, Carson."

"Not until you hear me out."

"Hear you out? You're joking, right?"

I shoved him, just enough to move away from him. Carson was pretty strong and it'd be hard to move a man like him, but he was weak to me now.

"Alright. Enough of this, Lauren. I'm sorry. I missed you and I needed..."

I scoffed.

"Save your sob story and the bullshit. So because you missed me, you needed what? Your dick sucked and a quick fuck? If you missed me, you could've put up more of an effort to come see me like I've busted my ass to get here as much as I can to spend time with you. You're not the only one with a career, Carson."

"Wrestling isn't a career!"

"Wow. You finally outright said it. You've skated around it for a while since I've graduated, but there it is."

"Lauren, I..."

"Carson, I've done nothing but support you. I've supported you in more ways than one and this is what I get? Long distance is hard work, I get that, but from the time I graduated and decided to pursue wrestling full time, you changed. You became more and more distant and I did everything I could to make this work."

"We can still make this work, babe."

"No the fuck we can't and stop calling me babe. What's with you and the pet names all of a sudden?"

"You know how I feel about you. Why are you making this bigger than what it is? Let's just sit down and talk and..."

"Carson, I want you to hear me when I say this. We're done. There is no patching things up. There is no reconciling. You cheated on me for over a year with my best friend of all people. Was she the only one?"

His eyes dropped.

"Sick, just sick," I muttered to myself.

"Lo..."

He reached out to grab my hand, but I blocked him.

"Don't touch me. You're disgusting."

"I'm disgusting?! Lauren, get over yourself. I've seen you on social media. I know how many guys you've been around. I see the way they've looked at you. Don't make it seem like I'm the only one that did dirt in this relationship."

I looked at him like he was crazy.

"Are you kidding me? I've never cheated on you! I've never done anything foul in this relationship. Just because you have a guilty conscience and were being a dog doesn't mean that I was doing the same thing. I've never even flirted with another guy since we've been together. I was totally committed to you. Don't you stand there and accuse me of something just because your dumb ass fucked around on me and got caught. You've done nothing but lie to me, Carson. There's no coming back from that."
