Lauren
I just met him, but I couldn't get him off my mind.
Andrew Anderson.
Drew.
No, Andrew is more formal. I'll call him Andrew.
This man was so attractive, but he had this swagger about him that made him even more appealing. Well over 6ft, tattoos, the one on his neck the most visible. Muscular, short hair with a beard. Maybe, just maybe, it's just a sexual attraction
I wish it was just that.
I've been around a lot of guys since breaking up with Carson, but Andrew is the first to truly catch my eye. The way he gazed at me, I can still remember the look in his eyes. He's 8 years older than me though. Wait, why am I even considering this?
Ending up at the bar last night wasn't what I should have done. Alcohol doesn't consume me, but it is a weakness. My dad is right, I needed an outlet and a substance wasn't the right thing to do.
I kept hearing over and over what Andrew said to me. How he could read me so easily without me saying a word.
Your eyes tell a different story.
My phone was buzzing on my nightstand and I ignored it, but this person was relentless. I snatched it, answering it without even opening my eyes.
Whoever the hell you are, you better have a damn good reason for my calling my phone at the ass crack of dawn.
I do have a damn good reason. Good morning to you, too, Lauren.
I quickly sat up in bed, but regretted it. Thankfully this wasn't a FaceTime call because he'd see the grimace on my face and immediately go on alert.
Uh, hi grandpa. Sorry, I uh, didn't look at the caller ID before I answered. It's just been buzzing for the past 20 minutes.
Mmm. How are you, princess? Happy to have you home.
Happy to be home. Aside from being tired and slightly hungover... I mean, jet lagged.
What are your plans today?
Oh, thank God he skipped over what I just said.
I don't have any aside from sleeping.
Well, if you want to crawl out of your lair, maybe you could stop by and visit me and your grandmother.
Sure. How about dinner, just the three of us?
Sounds like a plan. You can face everyone else at family dinner Sunday.
Dad texted you, huh?
We've been having family dinners with everyone on Sundays. That hasn't changed. This one is just special now that you're home.
Alright. Can I make a request for dinner?
He chuckled.
Sure, go ahead.
Can you ask grandma to make her chocolate chip cookies and you make your shrimp Alfredo?
Sure, bug. How's 6pm sound?
That's fine. I'll be there.
Alright. Let us know if you need...
I won't need a ride. I'll borrow one of the cars here.
Alright. See you then. Love you. Get some rest.
I'll try to. Love you, too, grandpa.
I ended the call. Checking my call log it was Ruby that was blowing up my phone. My grandfather had only called me once. Looking at the time, it was half past 8am. I called Ruby back and she answered after a few rings.
