Andrew
I pulled in front of the airport to drop off Lauren. I hated that she was leaving, but this was something I for sure was going to have to adjust to in being with her. She had a career that required her to travel and a temporary sabbatical was just that, temporary. I meant what I said and would support her however I could.
I got out, grabbing her bag out of the trunk and opening the passenger door for her to get out. I pulled her into a hug and she didn't resist. I kissed her forehead, before leaning down and kissing her lips. Just like at the restaurant, kissing Lauren was everything I thought it would do. Call me corny or a simp, but this woman literally took my breath away.
Breaking away from her, she groaned.
"More," she whispered.
I gave her lips a quick peck which only made her pout.
"Alright, go on. I don't want you to miss your flight, baby."
"Baby?"
"Baby, darling, love, my everything. You okay with that?"
She nodded.
"I'll let you know when I land. See you later."
She got on her tippy toes and stole a kiss before taking off to the entrance. She turned and waved and I blew her a kiss. She playfully caught it and I watched her walk away. Getting back in my truck, I headed straight to the gym. I needed to talk to my brothers. Did I move too soon? Wait, why the hell am I second guessing my decision. It's what I wanted, but now I'm wondering if Lauren truly wanted this.
Walking into the gym, I asked the guys at the front desk where Colton was. They told me he had just got in and was in his office. I passed Cody on the way, motioning for him to follow me. He didn't hesitate to do so. I didn't knock as I entered Colt's office. Looks like I should have. Ruby was in here.
"Damn, my bad bro. Thought you were alone. I need to talk to you and Cody. It's important. Hey Ruby."
He gave me a look before turning to Ruby. She waved and smiled.
"Excuse my brothers, sweetheart. I swear our mama taught us better manners."
Ruby laughed.
"Don't be mean to your brothers, Colton."
"Oooh, full name," Cody mocked.
Ruby turned her gaze to us.
"You say something, Cody?" Ruby scolded.
He quickly shook his head which got a smirk from
"No ma'am."
She playfully rolled her eyes.
"Clearly you have brotherly things to discuss. I need to get to work. See you later."
"I'll walk you out," Colt stated.
"No, it's fine..."
"They'll be fine until I get back. Come on."
He helped her off his desk and she waved goodbye to us.
"This better be good," Colt mumbled moving past us.
The office door closed and I plopped down on the couch.
"Bro, what's wrong?" Cody asked.
I just shook my head.
"You're lying, but I'll save you the trouble of repeating yourself until Colt gets backed.
He didn't say anything else and we sat in silence. He was scrolling on his phone when the door opened and closed.
"What's going on?" Colt questioned.
