Lauren
I woke up the next morning wishing I had slept in. Checking my phone, it was just after 5am. Great, I'd only been sleeping for 5 hours having gone to bed just after midnight. Tossing and turning most of the night, I was flooded with dreams of Carson. From the day we met to where we are now, how did something so sweet end like this?
Snapping back to reality, I decided to check my phone which I ignored from the moment I got to Mimi and Papa's house. The only reason I knew my parents had gotten here was because they called Hudson and he told me. I was scolded for shutting out the world, but I didn't feel like talking about this shit.
Rolling over, I went to the bathroom and did my morning routine before heading outside to do some yoga. No one was up yet. I stretched and meditated, taking in the early morning sun. While I was so in tune with my body, my heart was aching.
Once I finished, I decided to go on a run. Checking my phone for the first time since I left the apartment, I wasn't surprised to see it was a barrage with text messages.
Lalani: Hey big sis. Mom and dad told me that they were heading to Maryland to see you. You know they're great listeners and will have your back no matter what. Fuck Carson. If need be, we ride at dawn. Or we can be nice and mind our business. I go for the first option, but whatever you want, I'll do. Love you. Call me.
While my dad would have come here alone, I know my mom wanted to be here just as much, especially after our conversation. To be honest, I could use both of them.
Blake: Hudson told us what happened. I'll call you later. In the meantime, let me know where Carson is. I'll pull up and kick his ass, no questions asked. Just cause you're not on the road with us, don't go ghost. It's only a matter of time before you come back. Love you.
Hunter: You left me alone with Blake, great (lol). I miss you already and can't wait for you to come back. I know your heart isn't in it now, but I know you love this business just as much as we do. One day soon, you'll see. In the meantime, rest up. Fuck Carson's bitch ass.
Ruby: SISTER! If it's what I think it is, you must be done with Carson. Looks like we need to have a round of shots to celebrate. Heartbreak doesn't last forever, trust me I know. Love you. Call when you feel up to it.
I was about to delete the text messages from Carson, but I decided to read them instead.
Carson: Lauren, answer your phone.
Carson: Lauren, Shayna means nothing to me. You are my world. If you want to wrestle, fine. Just... Whatever it takes for us to make this work , I'll do.
Carson: I just want to make sure you're okay. I know you're not staying at the apartment. Please, let me know you're okay.
The last text message pissed me off.
Carson: Dammit Lauren, I'll call your parents if I have to and let them know you left me. Answer your phone!
Leaving the house, I went for a run around the neighborhood not venturing too far off. I was gone for roughly an hour. When I got back to the house, I was going to use the spare key to open the door when it swung open.
"Girl, you're in trouble," Harper greeted with a smirk.
I looked at her confused as she pulled me into the house and into a hug.
"Missed you," she whispered.
"Missed you, too."
"Where the hell were you?" I heard a voice ask.
