Andrew

Lauren and I had a blast bowling although she wasn't the happiest that I beat her. We did best out of 3. She won the second game, but I overtook her with three straight strikes in round 3 securing my victory. We returned our shoes and headed to my truck. The night wasn't over just yet.

Opening the car door, I held out my hand to help her in.

"Can't believe the champ is helping the loser," she commented.

I couldn't help but laugh, going around to the driver's side.

"Even though I lost, that was a lot of fun. Thanks."

"You're welcome, darling."

"I'll have to get my rematch though."

I laughed again.

"Anytime."

Starting the car, we headed off to our next destination that I was hoping she'd like.

"Where are we headed to next?"

"You'll see."

This time she didn't protest and relaxed in her seat. My hand rested on her thigh once again, our hands naturally linking together. We got to this resting area where they had food trucks lined up.

"Not sure where you wanted to eat, but there's plenty of options here," I stated, pulling into the parking spot.

"Mmm, tacos."

"Tacos it is."

We headed in the direction of the taco truck, hand in hand, Lauren resting her head on my arm. We grabbed our food and I looked around to see if there was a spot for us to eat. It was pretty crowded which was surprising for this area on a weekday.

"We could eat in my truck, if that's okay with you," I suggested.

"That's fine. I'm not picky, just hungry."

We ate, making small talk. Once we finished, she reclined the seat.

"Let's play a game," she stated.

"What kind of game, darling?"

"21 questions, no holds barred."

"No holds barred?"

"Yeah, I'll be completely honest with you and you do the same. Lay all the cards on the table."

"You ready for that?"

She nodded, turning in her seat to face me.

"Alright. Who goes first?"

"Well, champ, since you won at the bowling alley, you can choose."

"Ladies first. Ask away."

"Have you ever had a serious relationship?"

"In college, yeah. I dated my ex, Alexa, for 3 years. We were friends all throughout college and made things official our Senior year. We tried to make it work once we graduated, but we had different wants in life. She's married now to one of my college friends, Kenny, actually. It all happened really fast. They were together within a year of us breaking up and married a year after that. They have two kids."

"That didn't bother you?"

"No. There's no bad blood between us. I went to their wedding and everything. We still keep in touch. It's all love. Life happens, people drift apart."

"Did you love her?"

"You're going 3 for 3 with the back to back questions."

She hid her face which made me chuckle.
