Out of My Head

Andrew

I barely slept.

I couldn't get my mind off Lauren.

Out of all the girls to catch my eye, she had to be 8 years younger than me and a part of one of the most infamous families in town. Over the past 3 years, my brothers and I have made a name for ourselves in this community. We're well liked. I don't know what the hell I'm thinking when it comes to Lauren, but she sure left a lasting impression.

I got up and got ready for the day. Heading to the kitchen, I made my protein smoothie. I had some work to get done. I threw on my sweats and sat at my kitchen island, opening up my computer. My curiosity got the best of me and I was soon doing a Google search on Lauren Law, also known as Lauren Legend.

Her Wikipedia page popped up, but so did tons of articles and photos. She was a Division 1 track star and had attended the University of Miami. Double major, a ton of accolades. She's made quite the name for herself.

I went to her social media and saw a blend of personal photos with plenty that were work based. No hints of a boyfriend, but maybe she liked to keep her dating life private. Unlike others, she didn't have a WWE handle. She was simply, "LaurentheLegend."

Looking at the time, I saw I had fallen down this rabbit hole far longer than I thought I would. I finished up my work before heading to the gym to workout with my brothers.

Grabbing my bag, I headed out of my apartment and down the street to my brother's gym. I said hello to people I saw regularly as I made my way to the weights.

"Well, look who finally showed up," Cody said.

Colton slapped him upside the head.

"Leave 'em alone. What's up baby brother?"

"Nothing much."

I started  setting up the weights. My brothers just stood there.

"We working out or what?"

They looked at each other before looking at me and smirking.

"You seem different today," Cody stated.

I raised my brow.

"Different how?"

"You got some last night?" Colton quizzed.

"What? No. I can't be in a good mood without you guys questioning me? You make it seem like I'm the grinch or something."

They both laughed.

"Nah, it's not that. You just seem different. I can't put my finger on it, but different," Colton added.

I was about to say something, but I closed my mouth.

"See! I knew it was something," he added.

"I met a girl last night at the bar."

They both started grinning. Annoying asses.

"Oooh a girl. What's her name?" Cody teased.

"Lauren."

They both nodded.

"Get this though, she's related to the Law family."

They both looked shocked.

"Wait, what?" Colton said.

All I did was nod.

"Law as in the infamous Law family around town? How related are we talking?" Cody quizzed.

"Yes, that Law family. She's Dr. Tyler and Ms. Isabella's granddaughter. Logan and Erica are her parents."

"Wow. Logan, Matteo, and Patrick come in here all the time. Hell, so do Dr. Tyler, Mr. B, Detective Tate and Mr. Tuck. The latter may be in their 60s and early 70s, but they still stay in shape. Maybe she'll sign up here too," Cody stated.
