Andrew

It's officially February and Lauren's birthday week. She has the next two weeks off before she'll be all over the place for work. She has a girls trip this week followed by a family dinner over the weekend to celebrate and then she's all mine. I'm taking her away to one of my favorite places. I can't wait to spoil her and cater to her for an entire week, uninterrupted.

"Babe!"

I had just stepped out of the shower when I heard her calling my name.

"Bedroom!"

I heard her quick footsteps make their way towards me. She was dressed and ready for her trip. She'd be meeting everyone at the jet within a few hours. Her mother, aunts, younger sister, Ruby, and Harper were all going. I laughed thinking of Logan saying he wanted to crash the party, but one look from Erica and he was changing his tune.

Her eyes trailed my body. I already knew what she was thinking.

"Uh, how do I look?"

She had on a one piece outfit that hugged her body perfectly. Lauren always had an amazing physique, but since she's been back to training, plus completely changing her diet, her body is on a different level.

"You look amazing, babe," I said, sliding on my boxers.

I moved around the room to get dressed. I felt her eyes on me the entire time. I smirked to myself. To think she calls me a creep when I watch her get dressed.

"Like what you see, darling?"

I turned, grinning at her. She rolled her eyes.

"You're alright," she commented.

I laughed.

"Just alright?"

She just shrugged which made me laugh even more. Lying through her teeth. I finished getting dressed, putting on my chain and my watch. She pouted.

"What's wrong?"

"I'm leaving you," she whined.

I gave her a warm smile.

"Baby, you're not leaving me. You're going on a trip. When you go on the road, you'll be working. So, will we be a part? Sure. I just don't consider that leaving me. Leaving me is being done with me. Right now, we're stuck like glue so that's not happening."

"You just always know the right things to say, huh?"

"I've been told I'm a smart ass. In terms of me and you, verbal reassurance works too. I'll be here when you get back."

"I know you will. Promise me something."

I groaned. There's only been a few times Lauren has asked me to promise her anything. Everytime she did, I knew it was her not wanting me to do something.

"What could that be, darling?"

"Promise me you'll take some time off this week."

I had so many irons in the fire so to speak. Taking time off this week knowing I wouldn't be in the country next week was a bit unsettling for me. I had to work in order to relax. I work this week, I could have next week off.

"Lauren, I would, but..."

She held up her hand.

"Don't say you can't because we're going away next week. You've been working nonstop and bouncing between the bar and the warehouse. I just don't want you to burn yourself out. I'm not saying take the entire week off, but don't sit there and work 12+ hours. You need rest, Andrew. You're a workaholic."
