It's been two days since our little date, and Maggie has been a little more relaxed because of it, nagging me a lot less than usual. So the past two days had been pretty peaceful.

Maggie decided to cut out a picture of me kissing her cheek and placed it inside the locket. Ever since I had given it to her, she never took it off. Not even for a second.

We were preparing for our final run to the mall today. We had finally almost finished up gathering everything we needed to stock up for winter. We only needed to grab a couple more things, then our little mission would be complete and we could go home.

The past few days have been peaceful, relaxing even, but I couldn't help but be creeped out by all the empty buildings. Pacifica was completely deserted. No walkers. No people. I don't even think a single breeze had brushed through my hair. The lack of sound and, well, anything in general made my skin crawl. It just wasn't right.

We had breakfast as usual, except this time, once we finished with the cans, Daryl and I decided to throw them out the apartment window to see who could hit a walker on the head. Unfortunately for him, I won. And I was not a graceful winner...to him anyway. His grumpy face was just too funny to me.

We drove to the mall for the last time and we did our usual perimeter checks. For the first time since we had come here, a couple walkers were outside the entrance.

We quickly killed them, but as I knocked the last one down and stomped it's head in, I couldn't help but feel uneasy.

"We should be more careful today..." I suggested.
Daryl snorted as he ripped his arrow out of a walker's corpse.
"Ye scared, bun?"
"No. I just...Usually there's no walkers..."
Glenn sighed and wiped away some sweat.
"I'm actually happy to see the walkers. It makes the place seem more normal."
I chuckled and went to the fire exit, holding it open for everyone.
"I agree. But, it doesn't hurt to be cautious."
Daryl and Glenn looked to each other, then clucked like chickens as they passed me, so I kicked their ankles.
"Shut up!"
They laughed and ignored me, making me pout.
Maggie sniggered and pulled me through the door.
"Relax, bunbun. It's our last day."
I sighed and leaned on her shoulder as we walked.
"I know, I know. But it's even more reason to-"
She cut me off with a kiss, then fixed up my hair.
"Alright, alright. We'll be careful."
I smiled at her and pecked her cheek.
"Good."

We split up like usual, gathering the rest of what we needed. Well, I say we, I mean me. The remainder of what we needed was on the ground floor, but I left to the first floor to get the generator that I had used for Maggie and I's date. Of course I had told them where I was going before I split though.

I didn't see the point in leaving it behind, especially since I fixed it up. The prison had electricity, but the more generators, the better.

The only reason I hadn't taken the generator till now was, well, it was simply because I was dreading carrying it. It was heavy as hell and I was a lazy-ass. So I left it till today.

I carefully unplugged everything and slowly picked the generator up. It was a pain in the ass to lift, but it'd be worth it. I slowly and carefully began to walk out the store, but stopped dead in my tracks as I heard yelling.

I stood still and quiet in the stores doorway, waiting for another sound. I was hoping a walker had just jumped someone, or they had tripped..got spooked..something like that, but as soon as I heard yells and grunts, I knew it was something more than that...

I dropped the generator and ran over to the first floors railing, peeking over it.

A group had ambushed the others and dragged them to the middle of the mall, just in front of the stairs. A rather large group...
