We weren't driving for long, maybe a few hours, until we came across something that caught my eye. A small country road with a sign that said "Greene's farm". I stopped in front of the road.

"Why did we stop?" Asked Sophia, looking out the windows. I pointed to the sign.
"Your group may have gone there."
Sophia peered over my side and nodded. Agreeing to my idea. At the very least, if we didn't find her people, we may find a safe place for a while.

I took the turn down the country road, which winded through the woods for a while till it opened to a clearing, big fields, a huge drive and a white farmhouse. As I drove closer I noticed other cars and some people standing around, seemingly arguing. My heart began to race. This was it. This was either Sophia's group or we were in trouble.

I stopped the car behind a small stable, out of view from the group out front. I got out and Sophia did the same. I took in a deep breath and peered round the stable.
"Do you recognise them, Sophia?" I whispered. Signaling for her to come over but stay close. She too, peered her head out.
"I can't tell....I.. I.. don't know. Not from here." She whispered and mumbled an apology.

I pat her back, then bent down to face her, resting my hands on her shoulder.
"Sophia. Listen to me. I'm going to talk to them. Ask if they know you. I'll make sure it's safe. Only come out if I call you, okay?" I instructed. And she nodded slowly, but frowned.
"What about you?"
"I'll be fine" I smiled then stood.
"Stay here till I call. If I'm in danger, run away, okay?" She nodded and then I left, slowly making my way to the group.

As I got closer I noticed they were all yelling at each other. They seemed to be arguing.
"Great timing, y/n." I muttered, as I continued treading forward. As I got closer a few people noticed me. Then all of them turned to me with angry faces.

"Don't come any closer. Who the fuck are you?" Yelled a tall bald man, stepping towards me with an aimed shotgun. Another man, dressed in cop attire, held his arm out in from of the bald man, but the look on his face was no friendlier.
"Are you here for the boy?" The cop guy demanded.

I stood there with a confused look on my face, as all guns were raised at me.Were they expecting someone? If they were...it's clearly not a friend.

A redneck with a biker jacket stomped towards me crossbow raised. He stopped mere inches away from my face.
"Answer the question." He demanded with a gruff voice. I shook my head and held my hands up.
"I honestly don't know what you're talking about" I replied, slowly and calmly, making sure not to piss them off.
"Bullshit." He said.

In mere seconds he grabbed my arm and locked it harshly behind my back. He stood behind me, pushing me forward towards the group.
"Calm down, Daryl. We don't know if she's part of that group" an old man in a bucket hat voiced. This "Daryl" only kicked my legs, making me bend a knee on the ground in response.

I closed my eyes and thought a moment. How the hell am I gonna get out of this? I knew people were trouble, but here I am. All for a little girl, no less. I sighed, opening my eyes again. This time, the cop guy was in my face. I looked him dead in the eyes.

He knelt down to my level, since I was on my knees, and rested his handgun on his knee, making sure I saw it.
"Do you know Randall?" He asked. I raised my brow at his question.
"Who?"
I felt a punch on my back. Daryl had hit me with his crossbow. I grew annoyed.

They continued questioning me. Asking me if I knew a boy. If I was part of a group. Everytime I was confused. And Everytime I said no. I peeked out the corner of my eye, seeing Sophia watch me silently. She seemed scared. That had made me have enough.

"Shut the fuck up." I yelled, looking up at the group around me. Who surprisingly did shut up, but out of astonishment rather than obedience.
"I don't know a Randall. I don't know this group you're talking about. I don't know about no damn pub. And I don't know who the fuck you lot are." I began. I then looked up to the cop who stood before me.
"But I do know, Mr cowboy, that I have a little girl that I gotta look after." I spat.

Their expressions seemed to change. They seemed to become more pale, however, the guy behind me, Daryl, grew angrier, and hit me over the head.
"Girls name?" He asked.
I peered behind me, trying to look at him, blood trickling down my face.
"Sophia. Got lost. Know her?"
That seemed to set him off as he went to hit me again, but the cop stopped him and a grey haired woman ran over to me, panicked.
"You found Sophia?"
"You found my baby?" They asked at the same time.

I broke free from Daryl and slowly stood up, the woman and cop slowly standing with me. I scanned the crowd. Some seemed nervous. Some shocked. Some relived. I had a feeling this was it.

"Sophia!" I called. Then turning to the stables and waving her over. She slowly crept out and then ran over to me. Everyone around me seemed to tear up.
"Sophia! Honey!" Yelled the grey haired woman. As soon as Sophia noticed her, she ran to her and hugged her.
"Mama! Y/n, we found her!" Sophia cried into her mothers embrace.

The two held the hug for a while, then others embraced Sophia. The attention then turned to me. Daryl, now standing in front of me, besides everyone else.

"How did you find her?" Cried Sophia's mother. And I honestly didn't know how to answer.
"Heard her. Went to help."
"Thank you" She cried. I simply nodded.
"Still don't mean she's innocent " The bald man stated. I rolled my eyes. The cop guy was about to talk, when Sophia had opened her mouth.
"Y/n is good. She helped me. She doesn't know anyone else. We were alone for days." She spoke up, from a young boys embrace, who I presume was Carl. Her mother, the cop and old man seemed to nod in understanding, along with a few others.

After a few moments of silence the cop holstered his gun and held out his had.
"I'm Rick. Rick Grimes." He introduced.
I shook my head.
"Names aren't necessary. I don't plan to stay." I held my hands up, giving an awkward smile. Earning a yell of disapproval from Sophia, even her mother joined her protest.

Another woman walked forward. She stood beside the cop and young boy. She had long brown hair.
"Come on now. You've just found a missing girl we've been looking for, for weeks. Least we can do is offer a meal, right Rick?" She asked. Rick nodded, then looked to an old man with long white hair and a beard.
"I agree. Not very often you find such good people." He nodded, speaking gently, turning to the porch.

I kept protesting, but it was clear they wouldn't let me leave, not till tomorrow at the very least. I didn't want to involve myself with them. Especially after how they introduced themselves. But for the moment I was stuck on the farm with them. At least I was safe for the time being, I presumed anyway.
