As the training sessions and rogue attacks continued, I found myself struggling to keep my feelings for the Alpha under control. Every time I saw him, my heart raced and my palms grew sweaty.
Despite my attempts to avoid him, we were often thrown together in meetings and strategy sessions. I tried my best to maintain a professional demeanor, but it was becoming increasingly difficult.
One evening, after a particularly grueling training session, I found myself alone in the training grounds. The sun had set, and the air was cool and refreshing.
I sat down on a bench and closed my eyes, taking deep breaths to calm my racing heart. But before I knew it, the Alpha was standing in front of me.
He sat down next to me, and we sat in silence for a few moments. The only sounds were our breathing and the rustling of leaves in the wind.
Finally, the Alpha spoke. "I know we agreed to focus on the safety of our pack, but I can't ignore the way I feel about you."
My heart skipped a beat. "What are you saying?"
"I'm saying that I can't stop thinking about you," he said, turning to face me. "And I don't want to."
I looked into his eyes, and I could see the sincerity and intensity in his gaze. My resolve began to crumble.
"I feel the same way," I whispered.
Before I knew it, we were kissing. It was soft and gentle at first, but soon it became more passionate and intense.
As we pulled away, the Alpha took my hand. "I don't know what the future holds, but I know that I want to be with you," he said.
I smiled, feeling happier than I had in weeks. "I want to be with you too."
We sat there in silence for a few more moments, enjoying each other's company. As we walked back to the packhouse, hand in hand, I knew that this was just the beginning of our romance.
Over the next few days, the Alpha and I continued to see each other in secret, stealing moments whenever we could. We would sneak away during breaks in training or after meetings, finding quiet corners where we could be alone.
As much as we tried to keep our relationship hidden, it didn't go unnoticed for long. Some of the other members of the pack started to notice the way we looked at each other and the way we seemed to always be around each other.
Chase, in particular, seemed to have picked up on it. He pulled me aside one day and said, "You know, I'm not blind. I can see the way you and the Alpha look at each other. What's going on?"
I hesitated for a moment, unsure of how much to reveal. But then I decided to trust him. "We're seeing each other," I said quietly.
Chase's eyes widened in surprise. "Really? I had no idea. I mean, I always thought there was something between you two, but I didn't think..."
"It's complicated," I said with a sigh. "We're trying to keep it quiet for now."
Chase nodded understandingly. "Well, I won't say anything. But you should know that I support you both."
His words were a comfort, and I felt grateful to have him. He is my only family and him accepting us means the world to me. But even with his support, I knew that our relationship would be difficult to navigate.
I mean I don't about mine but Alpha's wolf seems to think I'm his when we both know the truth behind it. His mate was dead and I had one who didn't want me.
