Melody's Perspective
I could hear hear the crooks moving down below me. Shouting filled the whole place. I gulped, my whole life since my dad was killed I have been trained to do just these kinds of things. So why did I feel like throwing myself off a same cliff to suffer the same fate as my mom?
I held the gun in my hand, clenching my fingers around it. Panic rose up in my throat. I mentally pep talked myself as I crawled farther away as I pushed the case in front of me. People will die tonight. A family broken, just like my own.
~ 2 hours later ~
"You got it?" Jerry asked as I walked through the door of my uncle's house, blood caking my neck and bruises forming on my sides. He obviously wasn't concerned with my well being.
I held up the case holding the diamonds, still trying to catch my breath. When I got out of the air vent three were waiting for me. I was able to disarm them all but I couldn't bring myself to use my gun, so it was an old fashion fist fight leaving many bruised but not seriously hurt except me. Some guy was able to get a knife on my neck, but he just knicked it.
"Good let's see it!" Jerry's face lite up, excitement filling his eyes. Many times my dad and Jerry had tried to steal from The Bloods but it was to difficult for them. The Bloods were highly powerful, but seeing as I was a girl and had better brains...
However I didn't succeed as much as Jerry would have like me to. So I had to break the news, "It needs a key."
"Of course it does! No one is going to leave it unprotected," Jerry laughed. "So let's open it and see how much there is."
"That's the problem!" I said, "I couldn't get the key. Ethan must have taken it with him." I went into the kitchen placing the diamonds on the table and getting a glass of water. Jerry trailed behind me.
"You're serious?"
I sighed, just thinking of my bed and sleep, "Does it look like I'm joking?"
"No I guess not," Jerry fought anger. "Well let's just put these diamonds somewhere safe."
"Can I at least get some sleep?" I asked, I was physically and mentally tired. The least he could give me was some sleep and maybe a nice hot bath since he insisted that I got the diamonds alone.
"We don't have time for that," He said. "They could be on their way right now."
"They didn't follow me," I said, "I ditched the car just for good messures but I'm sure they were to busy taking care of their own."
"The thing is, Melody, is that they don't care if their own die as long as they can be on top of the food chain, now fix this!" Jerry yelled. Imediatly I thought of Ethan when he said the same thing. I thought just a little if maybe The Bloods and The Sentras were maybe just the same. Nothing at all different then what they would like to believe.
"Fine," I said grabbing the case of diamonds and running up stairs to my room. I wasn't exactly going to go into town with blood on my face that would just be idiotic. To many questions would be asked and the cops would be called.
I went into the bathroom and started cleaning my cut on my neck and placing a bandage on it and scrubbing off the dried blood. After that was finished I changed my clothes. I was warm today here in London so I wore some shorts and a tshirt making sure it covered up most of my bruises and then I walked out the front door.
I walked into town with the case clenched in my hand, afriad that someone might try to take it from me. It was dangerous walking around with the diamonds out in the open like this but I have no choice.
I go past many stores and finally I get to where I want to be. I walked towards the ledge into the ocean. I look down at the water as it lapped against the sides. I went to a remote area, a dirty area where no one would just be hanging around unless they wanted private time.
A long chain was where it was supposed to be. Jerry picked out this place a few weeks ago when we found out about the diamonds. I locked the chain onto the case and pulled it to make sure it was tight and then I slowly lowered it down into the water until it was fully submerged then tied to chain somewhere secure.
This was risky keeping the diamonds here but it was safer then being hidden in Jerry's house. If The Bloods did find his house then they could search all they want, but they won't find it.
My nerves were at full power as I walked back down the street but I was more calm then before so I didn't notice when I ran into some guy. I looked up to apologize when I noticed who it was.
I'm not much of a fangirl but I could spot a celebrity or in this case one of the biggest boy band memeber anywhere. It was Nathan Sykes and he was walking out of a suit store. He put his hands out to balance me and said to me in his Gloucester accent, "Sorry, babe."
"No it's okay," I said smiling. I could see why so many girls fell head over heels for him. He had these green eyes that made my body turn warm.
He smiled back and I would like to think that he felt the same way I felt when I looked at him. "You have to look out on this side of town. Don't want you to be bothered."
"I could say the same to you. What are you doing here?" I asked still baffled that it was him.
"So you know who I am?" Nathan asked.
"Of course," I smiled.
"Well you know who I am, so who are you?" He asked, cocking his head to the side.
"I'm Melody Sen-" I was about to say my last name but I couldn't risk people in high places knowing my last name. Anything could happen.
"Melody Sen?" Nathan laughed. "Well it's nice to meet you."
"We have to come back here tomor-" I heard the one and only Tom say, "Who is this, Nath?"
"Melody," Nathan answered, "She ran into me."
"If you want a photo all you have to do is ask, love," Tom said.
"No it was really just an accident," I said, wanting to get away now. It was kind of getting awkward. "I should get going."
"Sure," Nathan said, "I hope I see you again?"
"Maybe one day," I said walking away.
As I walked away I heard Tom say to Nathan, "Aww, mate, do you have a little crush on her?"
"No," Nathan said defensively. I smiled as I walked back towards home, wondering if I would ever see Nathan again. Nathan freaking Sykes. It's weird but I've never thought of him until now. He was going to be here tomorrow again.
A/N Of course I've never been to London and I've never looked it up to see what some of the areas look like so bare with me. (:
