Nathan's Perspective
Maybe the best thing wasn't to bring Melody to my house to meet my parent or my sister, but it was the best chance I got.
I was able to call a taxi and as we were on our way I sent a quick text to the boys, I'll be gone for the rest of the day, don't worry.
Immediately Max responded with Mate! Don't forget we have a gig tonight!
Honestly I had completely forgot about our gig and I have never forgotten about them before. I sent him a quick text to let Max know that I hadn't and would make sure to be back an hour before we had to leave.
Make that 2 hours ahead of time! Max responded. After sending him a very funny text back, I turned off my phone so I wouldn't be interrupted.
Melody was nervously pushing her hair to the side and texting furiously.
"Can I see your phone?" I asked, holding out my hand for it.
"Why?" Her eyebrows furrowed as she held it against her chest. If she was trying to go unsuspicious she wasn't helping herself by being defensive.
"Trust me," I said.
"Ughh," She hesitated.
"I won't look through your things," I promised.
She finally handed over her phone and like I promised I didn't go through her texts no matter how much I wanted to. Instead I turned off her phone and shoved it into my pocket. I didn't trust that her phone might have a tracker on it and her people would come barging into my family's house. They would never be safe after that.
"Why did you do that?" She asked.
"So you won't get distracted."
When we finally arrived to my family's house I could tell Melody was very hesitant, but I wouldn't take no for an answer.
After paying the driver the pounds he asked for I went around to Melody's side and opened the door for her. When she didn't look like she would move an inch it was all I had to do to grab her hand and drag her out.
"Isn't this kind of awkward if you just bring me to your family's house? They don't even know me!" Melody said as she tired to dig her feet into the ground.
I stopped pulling her and took her hands in my own, "Trust me, you will be fine."
She looked back at me and didn't say anything so I took that as a sign to pull her the rest of the way towards the front door.
I took my keys from my pocket and unlocked the door while I held onto Melody's hand tightly. "Mum, I'm home!" I called out.
"Nathan?" I heard my mum's voice come from the kitchen. The next thing I knew I felt my mum's arms envelop me into one of her warm hugs. I missed home and I missed homemade tea. "Who is this?" Mum asked when she pulled away from my arms.
"This is Melody Sentra," I introduced her.
"It's nice to meet you, Melody," Mum cooed and hugged Melody. Over Melody's shoulder my mum glared at me. I'm in trouble. Mum knows everything and knows how dangerous my job is. Most of all she knows how dangerous the Sentra family is. "We need to talk later, Nath," Mum mouthed the words to me.
"Where's Jess?" I asked.
"Up in her room," Mum answered.
"Mum, why don't you take Melody into the kitchen and make us all some tea. I'm going to go catch up with Jess," I said as I went up the stairs to Jess's room. I knocked on the door and greeted with my little sister.
