Melody's Perspective
As those fans came up to Nathan, I had to turn the corner and leave. I would of stayed but the whole time we were walking I could be feel the constant vibration of Jerry trying to phone me in my back pocket. (I don't wear a purse. Just a way for your belongings to get stolen from a crook.) I knew I had to face Jerry sooner or later so I decided to give in and took the opportunity to answer the phone call.
Jerry was upset, that much I could tell when he said my name when I finally answered. He asked where I was at and when I would be home.
My reply? "There has been some complications." I had to tell him. I couldn't hide it any longer. Sooner or later he would have had to find out.
"What kind of complications, Melody?" Jerry asked sternly.
"The diamonds are kind of missing..." I let my voice trail off and flinched while I waited for his next words.
"What do you mean by missing?" Jerry roared.
"As in poof! Missing. Nada. No longer in my possession." I explained.
"Be serious, Melody."
I sighed, "Someone took them. Ethan doesn't have them though if that helps."
"Melody! Do you realize how much this can ruin us? No that doesn't make it any better." Jerry groaned. "Where are you, Melody? Let me pick you up!"
"No, Jerry. I am so close to getting the diamonds I think. I'm with the guys who have them. I'm staying out their place." I told him. Hoping it would calm him down.
"Are you crazy? Who are these people??" Jerry demanded.
I couldn't tell Jerry about The Wanted. I wouldn't allow it. If they were put into his head then they would be put on Jerry's hit list and I can't imagine them dying. They are idols to so many. So I only said, "No one. They don't suspect anything, Jerry, I'll be home once I get the diamonds. Calm down. I'm safe. He trusts me."
"I don't know, Melody," Jerry said.
"If I don't do this then our whole family is in jeopardy. It's only me in this. I'll be fine." I said. I heard Jerry sigh on the other line then murmur something to his wife.
Finally he said, "If I don't see you back here in three days then we are coming to get you."
"Okay, I think that's the only time I need." I said.
I hung up the phone and shoved it back in my back pocket. I turned to go back to Nathan right when he rounded the corner with a smile on his face.
"Who was that?" He asked.
Did he hear my conversation? Was my only thought.
Nathan's Perspective
I heard her. I heard every last word of the end of her conversation. A part of me broke. But why should I care. I barely know her.
If she wanted to play games I would to.
"It was just a friend asking where I was at," she said slowly. I could tell she was suspicious whether or not I heard her. Then she asked so bluntly, "Did you hear my conversation?"
"Ugh, no, why?" I asked, playing it cool but standing real close to her.
"Just curious. It was a lot of girl talk. Embarrassing." She said nervously as I stood closer to her.
Right before I kissed her I thought, I am going to make her fall in love with me. So then I grabbed her by her waist and pulled her against me. She gasped as being startled and I used the advantage of her surprise by placing my lips against hers.
She immediately responded by wrapping her arms around my neck drawing me closer. I ran my hands up her back and kissed her harder.
I pulled back and she looked up at me in surprise and said, "What was that for?"
"For my fans interrupting us," I responded, not taking my arms from being around her.
She smiled and said, "Right I forgot."
I pecked her on the lips and grabbed her hand.
"Where are you taking me?" She asked as I dragged her down the street.
"I know this is sudden, but I'm going to take you to the best place to get a cuppa,"I smiled, already thinking of the steam rising from the mug and letting the hot liquid warm my body.
She resisted by stopping, "Where would that be?"
"At my mum's house," I said and I started pulling her along again.
I will show her what it's like to live. I won't get played. I thought to myself.
