Melody's Perspective
The sun shone right through the thin curtains which caused me to wake up. I didn't remember ever having this problem in my room before until I realized I wasn't in my room. I'm not in my house with Jerry downstairs brewing tea or stirring coffee and making breakfast. I was in the enemies flat. I wonder what Jerry would say to this.
I rolled over and looked to see Nathan sleeping, his eyes closed tightly in a deep sleep, and his messy hair covering his forehead making him look about ten years old. His muscles were relaxed which made you feel like he needed protecting and he wouldn't even hurt a fly. I knew otherwise.
I pushed back the cover carefully in order not to wake Nathan up and pulled down the oversized shirt I borrowed from him that managed to snake it's way up my waist. I don't even want to know if Nathan felt my bare legs brush up against his. It gave me the chills just thinking about it.
I pushed open the door into the living room and could smell the aroma of beans and toast. Someone was cooking. With light footsteps, I followed the smell into the kitchen and saw Thomas Parker cooking. The sight amazed me. I know nothing of these lads and yet everything they did surprised me.
"Want some?" Tom asked without looking up, but I could hear the alertness in his voice like he knew who he was talking to. "Melody?" He finished.
"How did you know it was me?" I asked, walking up to the island counter and placing my elbows against it as I watched him work.
"Nathan's door opened and I knew it couldn't be him," He paused, "Nath takes awhile to get up."
"Oh," was my only response.
"You didn't answer me. Want some?" he repeated.
"Sure," I said, "Where is everyone else?"
"Jay is in his room and the others...ugh," Tom trailed.
"Can't tell me." I stated.
"Sorry, love," He said as he placed beans on toast and slide it over to me which I immediately dug into. I didn't realize I was this hungry until the food was right in front of me. When was the last time I ate? "You're still the enemy," he finished.
"What are you planning to do with the diamonds?" I couldn't help but ask.
"Give them back to the queen where they belong," He emphasized on the belong. I winced at this. I knew who the diamonds belonged to, but Jerry needs the diamonds. He never told me the full extent of why, he only told me he needed to pay a debt.
"Why is there so much between The Bloods, The Sentras, and I ugh guess The Wanted?" I wondered.
"Are you really that much uninformed?" Tom laughed as if he found this funny. I never was told.
I bit my lip in wonder of how much I should tell him about me life. I'm not here to give a life long story, I'm here to get facts and the diamonds. "I was born into The Sentras and I was never told why only how. I never questioned it. And since when did you all get into this?"
"Since the queen specifically picked us." Tom beamed, "We originally worked as he guards, but things got serious. We were able to sense The Bloods were up to something, we've always had an issue with them. In order to make them not get on to us the queen decided to make only a few of us in on it and we needed to cover up so that's why we are The Wanted."
"And you all can just miraculously sing like gods?" I asked.
"I wouldn't go that far, but yea pretty much," he laughed.
"So why the tension between The Bloods and The Sentras?"
"I don't know, I guess you're going to ask them yourself."
