Melody's Perspective

Jerry was close to me and I didn't know what I was supposed to do. If I went at him then the others would be sure to get out of the car and I would be lost.

"Jerry, I'm telling you the truth," I said. I was scared. What am I even doing? I have the diamonds but I can't give them to him.

Jerry knelt down next to me as he twisted the knife in his hand.

"Jerry, you are being ridiculous," Cora continued to reason with Jerry. "Someone will see you."

I was true. We are on the side of the street, but yet I haven't seen cars come by.

Jerry turned to Cora and sneered, "It's not like I'm going to kill her. She's my niece."

I took this as an opportunity to kick Jerry in the back so he went spiraling forwards onto his face. I got up quickly and started to run down the road, not knowing exactly where I was going but that I had to get away.

There was yelling behind me, mostly Jerry cursing at Cora. She fighting back but she stopped yelling mid sentence but I didn't dare to look back.

I heard Jerry start to run after me.

Nathan's Perspective

Why is this happening? We were supposed to catch Melody in action and then take her away. But she is gone.

As I exited the building I looked around and saw tire screeches on the road. They weren't there when the lads and I arrived. It has to be the only clue of where she went.

I started to head in that direction but felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned around and saw Jay.

"Where are you going, mate?" Jay asked.

"I'm going after her," I told him.

"Kev is calling back up. Let them deal with it."

"Just trust me and let me go after her myself. I don't feel right about this," I said.

"What do you mean?" He asked. He seemed worried for a second but I couldn't tell if it was for me or for Melody.

"Do you think Melody would have been able to take out all of those guys on her own and get away?" I questioned.

Jay thought for a moment while pushing his fringe back. "I guess not."

"She told me that her uncle Jerry can be abusive." I said, suddenly thinking more of what could be going on and that the longer I am without her the more danger should could be in.

"But she lied to us mate," Jay said. "Come back inside and let's see what Big Kev has to say."

"Mate," I said, "I have a bad feeling about this. There was some truth in what she said. I know it."

Jay looked at me for a while and nodded his head. I took that as a sign that he understood and I quickly ran in the direction that the tire tracks were headed.

Melody's Perspective

I was running as fast as my feet would take me when I felt someone wrap their hands around me waist and take me to the ground.

"Get off me!" I screamed.

"Give me the diamonds," Jerry growled in my ear. I felt his knife press against my neck, the metal was cold against my skin. He was able to make me stand up by pressing the knife harder against my skin.

My breath quickened and my heart pounded against my chest.

"Please Jerry," I cried. "Dad wouldn't want you to be doing this."
