Chapter 16 ~ Sheffield

Nathan's Perspective

I'm never nervous when I go on stage. I love seeing the fans cheering our names and singing along to all of our songs. It was really wicked. Many people want this life-a part from the side job. People want to make it big and the lads and I have it all.

This is why I'm not scared for what I'm about to do next.

"Are you boys ready?" Big Kev asked as he made sure we had our ear pieces in correctly. I adjusted mine a little, it always bothered me, but I have to deal with it I guess.

"Always," Max said.

I looked over at Melody who was sitting uncomfortably on a speaker with Kelsey chatting away. Kelsey can talk for hours if she can find anyone that can listen.

"Don't screw up," Big Kev warned.

"We never screw up," Tom laughed, probably thinking of the time we pranked Jay on stage.

I let out a big breath and took in the screaming of the crowd as the band started playing. We were starting off with Invincible, a song we begin with at most gigs.

"Let's do this!" Tom screamed as he started to run out to the stage. The rest of us followed as Big Kev hit our shoulders telling us to do go.

I ran onto the stage and looked out to many screaming girls and read many vulgar signs. Some made me laugh

"Tonight could be forgettable

Cause I'm drinkin' all the alcohol..." Max started to sing.

We finished the song on a high note and everyone was screaming their heads off that I knew I would feel it in the morning.

A couple of more songs passed.

"So I think we should slow it down a bit," Siva said to the crowd which earned him screams in response. "Nathan would you like to introduce it?"

"Alright," I said, "How is everyone?"

Screams.

"You have all been superb this evening. Really."

More screams.

"Now this next song needs some girls on this stage," I pause, "by our sides."

Many more screams. A few calling out my name.

"Would you like to get them, lads? Jay?" I asked.

"Alright," Jay said. After a bit of a hassle Jay, Siva, Max, and Tom got a girl from the audience. I was the only one who didn't get a girl. The crowd was screaming my name, begging me to pick them. I know I should of and it wouldn't be fair if I didn't, but I had a different plan in mind.

"I'll be right back," I said into the microphone as I walked backwards to go behind the stage.

"What are you doing?" Big Kev seethed.

I covered the microphone so no one could hear us. "Trust me," I said to Big Kev pointedly.

I walked over to where Melody and Kelsey were sitting.

"Shouldn't you be on stage?" Melody asked.

"I should be, but I can't go back on that stage alone," I told her.

"What do you mean?" She asked.

I grabbed her hand in my own, "Trust me." I started to drag her but she dug her feet into the floor to stop me.

"I am not going on that stage!" Melody protested.

"If I don't bring you then I will look like an idiot." I said.

"Then look like an idiot because I am not going up there!"

Back on stage I could hear Max say, "Nathan where are you?"

Siva said, "Nathan where the hell are you!" It was something we usually said to him when he was MIA and now he was pulling it back on me.

The crowd started to chant it as well with the boys egging them on.

"Nathan!" Kev yelled.

"Don't disappoint the fans." I smiled.

She sighed and I took that as an ok so I dragged her out of stage.

"This is Melody," I spoke into the microphone out to the crowd. The fans looked confused. "She is very special to me and I would like you all to welcome her."

She stood next to me with her arms crossed and I could tell she didn't enjoy the attention. Good.

The crowd screamed...of course.

And the boys looked at me funny.

"This is Heart Vacancy," Jay said calmly into the microphone suddenly.

The music started to play and I grabbed Melody's hand and I started to sing to her.

Melody's Perspective

I don't know what Nathan is trying to pull here. First he takes me to his family's house and now he pulls me on stage in front of a thousand girls who are probably not that happy. It was like he was trying to declare his love or something.

Oh god what if he is? I thought to myself as Nathan put his arm around my waist and sand to the crowd. I felt like throwing myself off a bridge.

I shouldn't even be here but the boys forced me to at least be back stage once they found out I have never seen them live or even listened to their music. Jerry would be mad.

When the song finally ended I tried to run off the stage but Nathan pulled me towards him and kissed me on the cheek. A lot of girls "awed" but there was also noises of protest.

After his hand left mine I quickly ran back stage.

"What just happened?" Kelsey laughed when she saw me.

"I don't know, but that will never happen to me again." I said as my heart raced.

Another song started up which was "I Found You"- a song I was familiar.

I went to the edge of the curtain and washed them perform. They were very energetic and jumping all over the stage. Jay was jumping in circles, Tom was swinging his hands in the air, Max was running across the stage, Siva stayed calm and jumped on a few occasions, and Nathan stood their in the light and as his solo came up he really put effort into it. His veins popping out of his neck.

I had to force myself to looked away from him once he finished and winked at me.

As I walked back to Kelsey I sighed which caused her to say, "I know that look."

"What look?" I asked.

"You don't just like him. You really like him." Kelsey laughed.

I looked down at my shoes. I liked Nathan ever since I met him because there was just this way about him, but when he left me there in that house something broke it. He came back for me and when he kissed me something sparked back. It's like a roller coaster; I have to decide if I'm going to do what I came her for or if I'm going to forget it.

Nothing would be the same either way.

"I guess I do," I finally replied to Kelsey.

~A/N~ The BOY IS BACK! I am still so happy that The Wanted are WHOLE again. ok. Yea. I was supposed to post this Sunday in honor of #NathanIsBack but I was freaking out to much. (:
