Nathan's Perspective
The gig was amazing and it reminded me of how much I loved to perform with my mates. It was a part of my job but it was a part I wouldn't want to give up.
As we always did at the end of every gig, the boys and I came together in the middle of the stage, arms wrapped around each other, and bowed down. Everyone screamed as their cameras flashed and then we ran off the stage.
I walked slowly as I saw Melody come into view. She still looked frightened about being put on stage. I could tell she wanted to talk, so I took her hand and dragged her into a secluded room.
"Why did you do that?" Melody whispered even though no one could possibly hear us.
"My fans need to know at some point..." I told her but she interrupted me saying, "Know about what?"
"That you're in my life now," I smiled down at her, but she refused to meet my eyes.
"Nathan, I can't," She whispered. I tried to ignore the feeling that came upon me as those words left her mouth.
"Yes, you can," I told her. I kissed her on the cheek. "There was a reason I met you outside that shop."
"What was that? I warn you?"
"No, Mel, not that. I think this was meant to happen," I said.
The Next day....
Melody's Perspective
"I love you, Melody," Nathan whispered in my ear as he fingers grazed me waist.
"You can't love me Nathan. It's impossible," I sighed. I loved the feel of his skin touching mine, the way he was able to hold me tight but so gentle.
"It's not impossible, Mel. Just please say you love me too," He said, his forehead resting against my own with his eyes squeezed shut.
I sighed and said, "I do love you, Nathan."
Nathan smiled and kissed my lips, his arms tightening around me and pulling me closer until we were skin against skin. He kissed me gently, but I wanted more of him.
His hands ran up my back until they were tangled in my long hair. He deepened the kiss and I felt lost. I didn't know what way was up or what way was down. My whole body tingled.
I was done denying how I felt.
I wanted Nathan Sykes, no matter what the cost.
I groaned awake as the sun hit me directly in the eyes from between the blinds. I shielded my eyes.
What was going on?
Why was Nathan doing this to me? I've been having dreams about him lately and it was driving me crazy, but in a good way.
"Melody?" Nathan said. I looked up and saw him standing in the door way his jeans slung low, a white top with a silver chain, and his hair disheveled.
"Yea?" I said as I stared at him. My heart started to pound as I remembered my dream. Why can't that be real?
"The mates and I are going to the studio. We'll be back in a couple of hours. We have a deadline that we have to meet, but help yourself to any food," Nath informed me.
"Ok," I said.
Then ten minutes later they were gone. All of them. No one here to supervise me. Did they trust me or is this a trick?
I sit up and wait another ten minutes so I can be sure that they are truly gone and then I peek out the door. Nothing.
This is an opportunity that I can't give up.
I need those diamonds or Jerry will for sure come after the boy whether I want him to or not.
After endlessly looking through their things I found a laptop that seemed like the best bet on information on the diamonds. I had to wait for it to boot up and disable the password like Jerry taught me to, but when I got through there were endless possibilities.
I connected a device to the computer that Jerry gave me in order to look for what I need. Into the search bar I typed in diamonds and was faced with twenty different results. I looked at a couple of dead ends but finally found something that might help me out.
There was a letter with words that caught my interest:
diamonds.....safe.....queen....hidden....warehouse
Bingo.
I sent Jerry a quick text saying, I know where the diamonds are out. I'll meet you at home in a couple of hours with them.
Almost immediately I got a response saying, I'm proud of you, Mel. You are just like your father. Be safe.
I smiled down at my phone. I missed my dad and every time he was mentioned it always brought back a pain of memories.
I put my phone in my pocket and gathered the few things that I had with me when I came to their apartment.
I stopped in Nathan's room and looked around. I knew I would miss it here, but I was never going to be back. I trailed my fingers across his clothes and took everything in. On his dresser was one of his hats. After looking at it for awhile I took it and put it on my head.
He won't miss just one hat.
I need some kind of memory.
Then I left...
