A/N HELLO! So I think an apology is in order. I haven't updated in over a month. I know not really a shocker since it took me waaaay longer then that to start up again. Well I am going to be given you excuses now like every other writer so here I go. Well it started when school was coming to an end so I had a massive amount of projects to get finished. I have started babysitting my almost one year old niece. And now I have summer homework. Going into my senior year! ahhh. Taking two AP classes and a honors class! wish me luck. And then there is the damn aweful writers block. I've had ideas, but I couldn't figure out how to format it into words. So those are my excuses and I apologize. Please bare with me because family is going to be coming down here in LA allllll summer. I love them but they are a pain. I'll try and update as frequently as I can. (:
Chapter 33
Melody's Perspective
We are sat about block from the Syke's household. Nathan has left the car idling on the side of the road and hasn't said a word for five whole minutes. His hands are clenched on the stiring wheel and he won't look at me. I want to say something, but I don't know when the right time is.
After a little bit of awkward silence I build up the courage inside of me and say, "It's alright to be nervous."
In return he gives me an unnerving chuckle. "I'm not nervous."
"Nathan..." I start but I am interrupted when he quickly says, "I'm not nervous. I'm scared."
"Same thing," I sighed and place my hand on his left hand which was still holding the stirring wheel.
"No it's not," Nath responded and took his hand away from mine. "Being nervous means that I am anxious to see them or that I actually want to be doing this but I am unsure. I don't want to do this. I'm scared which means that I don't want to face them."
"Then let's turn around."
"No, I need to see my family." Nathan said.
Nathan looked out the window and I took the opportunity to look at the time on my phone which read one thirty in the afternoon. At this rate we won't be leaving the Sykes household until four o'clock and Nath's supposed arrangement is at three.
"Crap," I whispered to myself and quickly slid my phone back in my pocket.
"What?" He asked.
"Maybe it would be easier if you ripped it off like a bandaid. It will be better if you just get there fast so you don't think about it to much." I quickly said.
Nathan clenched his teeth and safely merged back onto the road.
Suddenly my phone buzzed with a text from Nareesha saying, "How is Nathan holding up?"
"Who is that?" Nathan asked.
"Nareesha," I murmured as I texted back: Stubborn as usually.
She quickly responded, "I found that paper addressed to Nathan in your room. What's going on?"
"What were you doing in my room?" I texted back furiously in my mind.
"It doesn't matter. Whatever you are planning stop. We already have enough drama with Nathan's return." Naressha sent back.
"Are you going to continue texting or are we going to go in?" Nathan's voice erupting in the silence of the car. I hadn't even noticed that we were even stopped infront of his mom's house.
"Sorry," I murmured and unbuckled my seatbelt. Nathan came around the car and grabbed ahold of my hand once I was out and let me just tell you he was beyond nervous. I wanted to take my hand away becuase his hold was cutting my blood circulation and I could already feel the tingling that came along with it. "There's nothing to worry about. They should be happy right?"
