Chapter 18 ~ Melody + Nathan = Over?

Nathan's Perspective

The mates and I were in the studio for three hours and we were exhausted. As we were walking back into the flat everything seemed extremely quiet.

"Where's Melody?" Big Kev asked.

But I already knew.

"Huh?" Jay started. He was confused by what Kev said.

"Where is she?" Max asked as well.

Everyone looked over at me.

"I have to tell you guys something," I said.

Melody's Perspective

It took me an hour to get to the building. It was my first clue as to where the diamonds might be.

What is Nathan thinking right now? I wondered. He will hate me. But why do I care? Wasn't I just doing this just to get the diamonds. Oh my god, I used him, led him on. What am I doing with myself?

My phone buzzed. My heart leapt a part of me hoping is was Nathan yelling at me, but it wasn't. It was Jerry and he was calling me.

"Hello?" I answered.

"How is everything going?" Jerry asked.

"It's fine." I sighed.

"Well this better be quick, we have a deadline."

"A deadline for what, Jerry," I asked. I was getting really tired of this always being in the dark.

"Just let me deal with this Melody."

I sighed and shut the phone. What will I really even get out of this?

I examined the building above me. It was eerie, but it looked really secured. The diamonds had to be in there.

Nathan's Perspective

"What do you mean you are letting her steal the diamonds!?" Big Kev yelled.

"Let me explain fully!" I yelled. "Don't jump to conclusions."

"How do you expect us not to jump to conclusions?" Tom asked.

"You don't understand," I tried, "This whole time she has been using us. She was only trying to get the diamonds this whole time. I overheard heard her on the phone with her uncle."

"Why didn't you tell us?" Jay seethed.

"I couldn't!" I said.

"He was trying to protect her," Max said under his breath.

"I'm not trying to help her get the diamonds. This is just the only way we can actually catch her." I said,

"Fine," Big Kev huffed, "What is the plan?"

"Have the guards let her in. I'm not sure she will actually steal the diamonds, but if she does then we'll bring her down and catch her in the act. The Sentra's will probably come after her and we will have them all. Most of the case will be closed." I told them.

"Ok," was all Big Kev said. He took out his phone and called the guards who were guarding the building with the diamonds.

As the boys started to talk amongst themselves, Siva came up to me and patted me on the shoulder. He didn't talk throughout the whole thing. "This isn't about seeing whether she will take the diamonds." Siva started. "It is about seeing whether she really likes you."

I just stared up at him.

"I can see it in your eyes, Nath." He said, "You like her and you can't deny it."
