I didn't hardly speak a word the entire way back to Gotham. I was so pissed that I could hardly even think. I can't believe my genetics were violated like that. I can't believe my own parents would do that to me. My entire childhood felt like one giant lie.

I wasn't able to attend public school, I only had private tutors. The only friends I had were Bruce, Dick, and Jason growing up. Here I thought I was just born different because that's how my parents were born. If my genetics were manipulated then my mother's had to have been as well.

My mother was an airbender, a powerful one. As far as I knew, her parents didn't have any abilities. Which means her genetics were also altered and she wanted them to be altered. That could only mean that she was also a part of the League of Assassins on accord of my father.

We got back to Wayne Manor and I just stormed inside. I didn't want to see anyone but Maverick. I needed to hug him, just hold him close to me. He was the last real family member I had.

"Maverick?" I called out, heading upstairs.

I went into my bedroom and saw him curled up in my bed. I smiled and took my shoes and jacket off. I went over to my bed and climbed into it, pulling Maverick close to me. He looked so peaceful when he slept. I brushed the hair out of his eyes and kissed his forehead.

"Auntie Eli?" Maverick mumbled, rubbing his eye.

"Hey buddy." I whispered, rubbing his back.

"How was your trip?" He replied, snuggling closer.

"It was fine. I missed you." I told him, running a hand through his hair.

Maverick smiled and wrapped his arms around my neck. I wrapped my arms around him and just enjoyed the hug. He was the only thing motivating me to figure this whole mess out. I didn't want him to grow up living a lie, I wanted him to grow up to live a truth. He deserves that much.

"I missed you." Maverick mumbled into my neck. "Dami don't read like you do."

I gave a breathy chuckle and patted his head. "How on earth did you get him to read to you?"

"Uncle Bruce." He replied, taking his head out of my neck while grinning.

"Atta boy." I told him, grinning back at him. I kissed his cheek and ruffled his hair. "Hungry? I'll make you dino nuggets."

"And fries?" He asked.

"Duh." I told him.

He climbed off of me and off the bed. He ran out of the room. I sighed and stood up, following him out. Everyone must be in the batcave, it was really quiet in the manor. I didn't mind it, I needed some quiet after the hell I discovered.

I made my way into the kitchen where Maverick was waiting patiently. I playfully rolled my eyes and went to the freezer. I pulled out the frozen fries and nuggets and sent them on the counter. I grabbed the air fryer and got to work.

He was madly in love with a woman. His wife and baby were in the way. Joy's voice rang out in my head. If Levin was in love with Talia, why would she not make a child with him? She did so with Bruce. I couldn't understand why they didn't just do that and leave Charlotte alone. It was strange.

I put the freshly made nuggets and fries on a plate and cut the nuggets in half to cool. I handed them to Maverick and sat down across from him. I watched him happily munch on his lunch. He was completely oblivious to the whole mess that his grandfather or uncle or whatever my dad is to him got us into.

"Hey, how did it go?" I heard Conner's voice ring out in the kitchen.

I looked up from Maverick's plate and saw him and Gar coming in. Gar looked like he was feeling much better and seemed to be able to move pretty good. I was happy he looked better than he did a few days ago. He gave all of us a huge scare.
