Happy Easter/Happy Holiday! 💙

I was feeling better as the days progressed. It was our last day at the safehouse, we've been here almost a week now. In that time, Bruce and Dick have been trying to piece together the crazy timeline that has been nearly the last month. They wouldn't let me help and wanted me to regroup emotionally before trying to jump in.

"I'm gonna get you!" I yelled, slowly jogging towards Maverick.

Maverick and I have been spending a lot of time together this past week. I've been focusing on keeping him distracted and trying to give him more normalcy, even if it was brief.

"No you won't!" Maverick yelled, laughing and running off.

I smiled and let him run around the back of the house, where Rachel and Kory were relaxing on the back deck.

"Run Maverick!" Rachel cheered, watching him running around the backyard.

Maverick suddenly got distracted by a pile of dirt and decided he wanted to take a break. I was fine with it, I was wore out. I walked up the steps on the porch and joined Kory on the swing. I slouched down and leaned my head against the backrest.

The last week has been so calming and just a nice breather. I actually have slept a full eight hours almost every night this week for the first time in awhile. I didn't have a nightmare, I didn't wake up and worry about Maverick, I was calm. Mostly because Jason has been bunking with me all week.

Maverick has been making his rounds on his little sleepovers. He only stayed one night in my room and the rest he's been bouncing around. Everyone has seemed to grow closer to him and even Dick has been spending a bit of time with him. I felt a lot better and more at ease knowing if anything happened to me Maverick wouldn't be left alone.

"I wonder where he gets all his energy." Kory piped up, watching Maverick build mini dirt forts.

"Not from me." I teased, chuckling a little bit.

"So," Rachel started, leaning forward in her chair, "you have a different energy about you." She smiled. "It's a good energy."

I sat up and crossed my legs. "This past week has just really helped me center myself."

"You mean Jason has helped you center yourself." Kory teased, nudging my arm.

I blushed a little bit. "I guess so."

Rachel giggled and moved her chair closer. "I have never seen Jason so soft before."

As if on que, Jason walked out the back door and on to the porch. We locked eyes and he smiled. He looked out into the backyard and spotted Maverick. He walked down the steps and went over to him, sitting down beside him. Maverick seemed really excited to show Jason whatever it was he was doing.

"I didn't think he liked kids." Kory added, watching him interact with Maverick.

"Initially he didn't like Maverick. Then one day Maverick called him uncle J and wanted him to play toy cars." I explained, grinning a little bit at the memory. "He idolizes Jason hardcore. He even went as Robin for Halloween last year."

"I don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing." Rachel replied, a teasing smirk on her face. "Even if he's a total asshole most of the time, I can feel that he really cares about you two."

"Yeah, he seems to be really in to you." Kory added, looking over at me. "I'm happy for you."

I smiled. "Thanks you guys."

"Dick told me yesterday we're leaving in the morning for Gotham." Rachel stated, leaning back in her rocking chair. "We're staying in Wayne Manor while we're there."
