I woke up feeling much more rested. I sat up, rubbing my eyes. My head felt less like someone whacked it and my body didn't feel as heavy. My room looked less like a tornado went through it and there wasn't any blood on the floor by the doorway.
I felt something in my left arm. I looked down and saw it was an IV. Bruce must've started it whenever I was really out cold. No wonder I felt better, the man had medicine pumping into me and fluids. I did however really want a shower, I felt nasty. I slowly put my feet on the floor. I didn't feel cold anymore which was a really good sign.
I stood up and grabbed the roller cart with the fluid bag attached to it. I grabbed fresh clothes and made my way to the bathroom upstairs. I took a hot shower, which was totally not easy with the IV in my arm, but I managed. I felt so much better afterwards, more refreshed and clean. I removed the IV from my arm and got dressed. I brushed my teeth and headed down stairs.
I could hear chatter in the kitchen. I made my way in and saw Kory and Conner standing there talking. Conner spotted me and smiled. I smiled back.
"Hey." I told them, waving a little bit.
"You've been out for 2, almost 3 days. It's good to see you." Conner stated, walking over and giving me a hug.
"You look so much better." Kory told me, pulling me out of Conners hug and into one of hers.
I chuckled and pulled away from her. "Was I really out that long?"
"Yeah, we were all worried. Jason refused to leave your side up until about an hour ago when Bruce made him go shower." Conner explained, walking back over to the stove. "Hungry? I made pancakes."
"Starving." I replied, sitting down at the island.
He put a few pancakes on a plate and slid them over to me. My mouth watered as I cut into them, taking a big bite. They either tasted amazing or I was just really hungry. Either way, I was very thankful for the breakfast Conner made.
"Where is she?! She's not in her bed!" I heard Jason's voice yell.
"She's eating in here!" Kory called.
I rolled my eyes and wiped my mouth. Jason was way too overprotective at times. I heard footsteps barreling in and an over exaggerated sigh.
"What are you doing up?" I heard Jason's voice.
I turned around and gave him a deadpanned look. "I was hungry."
"I would've brought you breakfast." Jason replied, walking over to me. "You should be resting."
"I am rested." I replied, shoving pancake in my mouth.
Jason gave a breathy chuckle and wiped the syrup away from my mouth. I blushed as I heard Kory snicker.
"So," Conner started, "I've been helping Bruce in tracking down Krypto and Maverick."
My face fell. Almost three days ago I made the two flee while Levin's henchmen were attacking us. I missed Maverick so much. I was worried that they had been captured. I was secretly hoping that when I woke up he would be back. I was wrong.
"And?" I hesitantly asked.
"We found them safe and sound.." Conner replied, biting the inside of his cheek.
"But....?" I replied, raising an eyebrow.
"They went all the way to Metropolis." Kory finished, putting a hand on my back.
"What!?" I exclaimed, standing up. I grabbed the edge of the table, suddenly feeling dizzy.
"Okay, easy there." Jason told me, gently sitting me back down.
