"You really should have listened to her."
All I could do was watch as Owen lifted his hand and wrapped my mother into an electricity ball. I could hear her screaming, I was screaming. Then she just stopped convulsing. She was lifeless, suspended up in the air. My mom was gone.
I could feel my entire inside just burning. I heard multiple footsteps on the roof. I couldn't see through my tears as I just cried. I felt so worthless, I couldn't even save my own mother, even though I had a second chance to do so. What kind of daughter am I? I was mad at her but I still loved her so much.
I don't know what came over me, but all of a sudden I felt cold. I didn't feel like I was going to combust or burst into flames. I felt numb. I looked down at the rooftop and saw ice patterns forming on the concrete. I slowly stood up, stumbling a little bit. I wiped my face and looked at Levin.
Barry and Dick were standing next to Jason, helping him regroup as Conner was detaining Levin. I looked over at Owen and instead of feeling like I was burning, I felt cold. I lifted my hand and shot what I expected to be ice but instead was blue fire.
"Don't do it!" Jason yelled at me.
I was too blinded by rage. Owen had to go. He killed my mother a second time and it's also to get back at Levin.
"Phoenix! Your body can't handle this!" Dick yelled at me. I could hear footsteps run at me.
I felt a sudden burst of energy as I, quite literally, blew fire up Owen. He went up in flames, he was screaming, then he went silent. He was beyond repair. I looked over at Levin, shock was on his face. Conner had him in a tight grip so I knew he wasn't going anywhere.
I felt my insides grow hot again, even worse than before. I grabbed my stomach and doubled over. I was in so much pain, I didn't know where it was coming from. I dropped to my knees and couldn't help but scream. I felt a hand on my back before I heard a yelp of pain.
"She's too hot to touch!" Jason's voice rang out.
"I'll get her inside. Tell Batman to ready a coolant machine." I heard Clark's voice.
The last thing I remember seeing was Superman's face as he picked me up.

"Morning, tater tot."
I rubbed my eyes and blinked a couple of times. As soon as I became adjusted to the light, my eyes met Jason's. He had a major case of bed head but he still looked etheral. Maverick was sprawled out on top of him, dead asleep.
"Morning." I mumbled, rolling over and looking at the time. It was only 7 am.
No one besides Dick and Bruce would be awake yet. It was quiet in the manor this morning, which was nice. I rolled back over to face Jason and saw him fondly looking at Maverick as he ran a hand through the small child's hair.
"I'm sticking to that promise we made a couple of years ago." He mumbled, his eyes still on Maverick. "The three of us together in a small house by the water when all this shit is over."
I smiled a little bit and scooted closer to him. I laid my head on his bicep and wrapped my arm around him and the small child on his chest.
"With a dog?"
"Of course, whatever you want."
I felt him kiss the top of my head as I rubbed Maverick's back gently. I felt so calm, so safe as I laid here with them. I felt less stressed and less scared as I listened to the two of them breathe. They were still alive, still in my arms. They were here with me. That's all I could ever ask for.
