If you had what looked like a skull and snake on your arm, you were considered a dark wizard and evil. Draco Malfoy was sick of this ongoing feeling and every time he was called, he had to show proof he was still loyal to the dark lord even though Tom Riddle was gone.
Draco hated it. He was married to the best friend who he thought was amazing to him, even as a student. Sure he kept his love life private with this girl because she was also a mudblood, but she was the only person who could make him smile on a bad day.
Draco had gone home from his Auror work and it had been a long few days seeing his father Lucius was sick and could not do anything for the time being. Being an elder of the dark lord's army had a toll on Lucius due to the fact Tom Riddle had broken his wand and tortured the poor man for failing him so many times.
"Drake? You home?" Draco's wife Astoria Malfoy called out. She was having another child since their first son was already at Hogwarts doing what he did best.
"Yes my love, I'm home.. and I'm so sorry I'm late, the.. family is not well." Of course he had to lie to protect Astoria, but he wasn't going to have the Death Eaters kill his best friend who he chose over the pure bloods who the Dark Lord had given him as a choice to be married. Astoria knew the truth but she kept quiet because she didn't want to get into danger.
Astoria walked into the kitchen as Draco grabbed a butter beer from the fridge and sat down. She handed him their newborn son and smiled as Draco hugged the boy to his chest and chuckled
"He's gotten so big.. it'll become so fast and he'll see his brother at Hogwarts.." he smiled and Astoria but her lip. "Drake.. about that.." she said sighing and handed him a letter from Harry Potter who was another Auror but working with the Weasleys to battle the Dark Lord's followers who were hurting muggles for no reason.
" Potter wants to meet with you.. I'll stay here if it's safer." Astoria said and draco groaned "you'll stay with my mother who is away from these parts, she's had a hideaway home for us when I was a kid. You and the little one will be safe." He kissed her and she smiled nodding.
"I'll Floo powder there?"she asked and draco nodded "she'll meet you there tomorrow morning if you go early. I'll meet Potter at Honeydukes and we'll come up with a plan." He sighed and kissed her head and Astoria got up to feed the little infant and pack a huge bag for them both.
Draco sighed and looked at the letter biting his lip, closing his eyes for the moment. "Damn it Pottah..." he chuckled and sighed "it'll be good to see you again and see what's really going on.." he shook his head as Astoria walked down with her bags and set it down by the fireplace.
"We can go now if you wish Drake.." she said and Draco shook his head. "Mum won't be there till tomorrow morning, it would be terrible if you showed and you were taken from me." He smiled and got up putting a hand lightly on her face which made her flinch "easy.." she said having a scar on her face one of the dark lord's werewolves scratched her with. Draco moved his hand and put Wiggenweld potion cream that his mother gave them both in case the kids got hurt playing. The scar healed calmly and she smiled.
"You should eat, dinner's getting cold and we have a long day tomorrow.." Astoria kissed him deeply and walked to the bedroom to clean the bedroom for a bit.
Draco smiled and nodded sitting down to eat. He summoned his owl and wrote a letter for Harry and his family.
