May 03, 2015. Is this date seems familiar? If yes, good! If not, boo! Nah. Kidding.

The showdown between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao on May 3 was such a huge financial success. Why? It is considered as fight of the century, expensive tickets were sold, some well-known celebrities and popular person/people bided on them.

The fight MayPac was held on May 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, live broadcast of the fight aired on May 3. The match was a professional boxing match between the eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao and undefeated, five-division world champion Floyd Mayweather, Jr. Mayweather won the fight by unanimous decision.

Before the said match, a weigh in was done for both boxers. Both weigh 55kg, but Mayweather was more heavy of 1 lbs.

According to Wikipedia, The U.S. national anthem was performed by Jamie Foxx and the Philippine national anthem was performed by Filipino-American singer Gail Banawis, joined by The Word Chorale-a choir of Filipino pastors.

A large number of celebrities were in attendance during the MayPac match. Other figures in attendance included Beyonce and Jay-Z, Robert De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio, Paris Hilton, Nicki Minaj, and others.

During the fight, you'll notice how both fighters fight. Mayweather's fighting style is the defensive type while Pacquiao's fighting style is more of an offensive type. Mayweather kept on running around the ring, avoiding the punches of Pacquiao. Mayweather pacifies Pacquiao's attack by hugging him.

After the match, a lot of viewers, especially we, Filipinos, were very disappointed on how the match ended. Some of our fellow men manifested their disappointment thru social network/s. 'luto ang laban, sunog panalo', 'kung alam ko lang na tatakbo ka, nagfun run ka lang', 'ang huggable ng mga Pilipino', 'gayweather', and a lot more.

According to Wikipedia, after the fight, Mayweather remarked "Pacquiao definitely had his moments in the fight. As long as I moved to the outside, I was able to stay away from those. He's a really smart fighter ... My dad wanted me to do more, but I had to take my time. Because Manny Pacquiao is a competitor, and he's extremely dangerous." and Pacquiao said "I thought I won the fight. He's moving around. It's not easy to throw punches when he's moving around so much ... I thought I caught him many more times than he caught me."

There you go. I am not a boxing fanatic or Pacquiao fan but, I know that whatever the results were, it is considered as the fight that changes our perception, to me at least. In every battle, being in offensive is great, but being in defensive is the best especially in saving ourselves.
