Teja looked towards KK.

Teja: Are you fine, Dr. Karan?

KK forced a small smile.

KK: Hmm... yeah, I'm fine.

Teja nodded slowly.

Teja: You know... Bhai always used to talk about you.

A faint smile appeared on her face.

Teja: Like... always.

KK looked up at the sky.

KK: Yeah, I know.

He smiled sadly.

KK: We were like brothers.

After that, Teja didn't say anything.

She simply continued looking at the stars.

A few minutes passed.

Then a tear rolled down her cheek.

KK noticed it immediately.

He turned towards her and gently held her hand.

KK: Teja...

His voice was soft.

KK: Please don't cry.

Another tear escaped her eyes.

KK: You know, he always used to say...

A faint smile appeared on his face.

KK: "Bhai, I can never see tears in my sister's eyes."

KK squeezed her hand gently.

KK: So for him...

Teja interrupted him.

Teja: Why did he go?

KK froze.

There was no answer to that question.

Silence filled the balcony.

After a few moments, Teja spoke again.

Teja: Dr. Karan...

KK looked at her.

Teja: Bhai always said that you're the best doctor.

Her voice trembled.

Teja: Then why couldn't you save him?

The words hit KK harder than anything else.

He didn't get angry.

He didn't defend himself.

Instead, he simply looked at her.

Then slowly...

He lowered his head into her lap.

And broke down.

KK: Haan...

His voice cracked.

KK: I couldn't...

Tears streamed down his face.

KK: I couldn't save him...

For the next few minutes, both of them cried silently.

Two people carrying the same pain.

Missing the same person.

Eventually, Teja wiped her tears.

She gently placed a hand on KK's head.

Teja: Don't cry.

KK looked up at her.

Teja: Your Bhai will get angry.
