Karan and Teja then went into the shop. Teja was busy looking at different items for the balcony.
(Karan was extremely famous. Almost everyone knew him. He owned the entire mall, but he hadn't told Teja about it because he didn't want her to feel uncomfortable.)
Teja selected a few decorative items and asked the staff to keep them aside.
When she turned around to show them to Karan, she suddenly realized he was nowhere to be seen.
Immediately, panic filled her heart.
She looked around.
Left.
Right.
Near the counters.
But Karan wasn't there.
Teja: "Please keep these aside. I'll be back in a minute."
As she walked away, one of the salesgirls looked at her with disgust.
Salesgirl: "Why do cheap people come to stores like this? They just look at expensive things and then run away without buying anything. Stupid."
Teja froze.
Before she could say anything—
A familiar voice echoed behind her.
Karan: "Mind your language."
The salesgirl immediately turned pale.
Karan: "And don't you dare speak to her like that again."
Salesgirl: "S-Sir..."
Karan: "How dare you talk to her that way?"
Salesgirl: "Sir, this girl selected so many items and kept them aside. Then she started walking away. I thought she didn't have money to buy them."
Karan's eyes turned cold.
Karan: "First of all, she is Ma'am for you."
The entire staff became silent.
Karan: "And second, she is my wife, Mrs. Tejasswi Kundra."
Teja looked at him in surprise.
Karan: "Before judging someone, learn some manners."
Then he took out a card.
Karan: "Pack everything she selected. Right now."
The salesgirl lowered her head.
Salesgirl: "Sorry, Sir."
Karan didn't reply.
He simply held Teja's hand and walked out of the store.
Outside, Teja couldn't stop smiling.
Not because of what the salesgirl had said.
But because of the way Karan stood beside her.
Without hesitation.
Without questioning.
Without letting anyone disrespect her.
Karan looked at her.
Karan: "You're okay?"
Teja: "Yeah."
Karan: "I thought you got hurt."
Teja smiled softly.
Teja: "No."
Karan: "Really?"
Teja: "Someone very special in my life taught me that people who aren't yours shouldn't have the power to affect you."
Karan smiled.
Karan: "Wow. Good."
After finishing their shopping, they returned home.
The moment Teja entered the house, she ran toward Km and kd and hugged them.
Teja: "Mom! Dad!"
Both smiled lovingly.
Kd: "Sunny, Teja... we need to talk to both of you."
Karan: "What happened, Dad?"
Kd: "Sit first."
Everyone sat down.
After a moment, kd spoke.
Kd: "Sunny, you know the hospital in Punjab was my very first hospital."
Karan: "Yes."
Kd: "It's very special to me."
Km nodded.
Km: "And right now it needs us."
Kd: "So your Mom and I have decided to go there for some time."
Teja and Karan listened quietly.
Kd: "And we're not going alone."
Karan: "Hmm?"
Kd: "Mr. and Mrs. Prakash will also come with us."
Teja looked up.
Km: "We want them to stay busy. Sitting here and thinking about Abhi all day won't help them heal."
Karan slowly nodded.
Karan: "Did you talk to them?"
Kd: "Yes."
Km: "Mr. Prakash will handle the accounts department and Mrs. Prakash will help with the files and administration."
Karan: "Are you all sure?"
Km: "Very sure."
Teja remained silent for a few moments.
Then softly—
Teja: "Dad... when are you leaving?"
Kd: "Tomorrow evening."
Teja forced a small smile.
Teja: "Okay, Dad."
After some time, she quietly got up and walked toward her room.
Karan immediately followed her.
Teja sat on the edge of the bed.
She looked lost.
Karan: "Teja..."
Teja: "Hmm..."
Karan: "What happened?"
Teja: "They'll be happy there, right?"
Karan sat beside her.
Karan: "Yes."
Teja: "I just want them to be happy, Karan."
Her eyes filled with emotion.
Teja: "For their happiness, I can do anything."
Karan gently squeezed her hand.
Karan: "I know, Baba."
A few moments passed.
Then Teja looked at him.
Teja: "Can we go meet Mom and Dad today?"
Karan: "Why are you asking me like that?"
Teja: "Hmm?"
Karan: "You never need permission for that."
Teja smiled.
Karan: "Come. Let's go."
They immediately left for Teja's house.
The entire evening was spent with her parents.
There was laughter.
There were memories.
And there were hidden tears that nobody wanted the others to see.
After having dinner together and spending as much time as possible with them, Karan and Teja finally returned home late at night.
Neither of them knew that tomorrow would bring another emotional goodbye.
