[15 weeks before Arisu arrives at the Borderlands]
I was currently cooking a lot of food. Why? Because when Arisu comes here, it's gonna be chaos. So we might aswell prepare delicious food that's enough to sustain us for about a year or so. Also, I had some company over, Aguni and Niragi were giving me a hand in all the cooking, well, mostly Aguni since Niragi was sitting down, doing nothing but taste test the food that I give. I turned to face Niragi with an exasperated expression.
"You're just here because there was food huh?" I sweatdropped as I gave him another sample of my cooking.
"Yeah" as he took another spoonful of food.
I turned back to see that Aguni was chopping the vegetables and meat separately. I smiled as I continue to cook the food and put them in containers.
"Why are you even cooking this much food? It's enough to feed the whole Beach" He bored his eyes onto my back
"Well, it's best to be prepared" I replied
"Prepare for what? The apocalypse?" I lightly chuckled as he said that.
"I mean, anything can happen in the borderland, right?" I explained
"Yes but why? Is there any specific?"
"Let me say it this way, how long will you think this 'paradise' will last?"
Niragi went quiet, and Aguni's movement slowed down just by my words. It was so quiet that you can only hear the sizzling of the food cooking and the sound of the knife chopping the ingredients.
"Yes, this place lasted this far but could Hatter guarantee that this place would be alright in the future? I'm not saying that I exactly know what he is thinking but deep down, maybe he knows this place will not survive in the future"
"You speak like you know what's going to happen." Niragi raised an eye-brow
'that's because I do know' was what I wanted to say but I bit back my words and said nothing. I continue putting the ready-cooked food into containers.
"Where are you going to store all this, Y/N?" Aguni asked
"In a secret storage room," I winked
"Uh-huh, anyways I'll take some of those if you don't mind" Niragi reached for a container of hot chicken wings and grabbed it.
"Alright, only take one, Niragi" I lightly glared at him
He rolled his eyes and took one container, uttering under his breath "stingy much?" I sighed and turned to face Aguni.
"You can have one of the dishes since you ACTUALLY helped me" I empathise with the 'actually' while looking at Niragi who was already digging in the food. I scoffed at him as the scowl morphed into a smile when I faced Aguni.
"Anyways, take one of whatever dishes you want." He nodded and took one container of udon from the counter. Footsteps suddenly approached the kitchen, well turned to see Hatter surprisingly by himself since he is always seen with many people.
"So this is where Morizono goes to when he's not busy." Hatter smiled, he looked around to see the containers of different foods.
"Oh, greetings, Hatter" I politely greeted
"Oh? what's this?" he pointed at the containers
"Ah! this is just some food I made," I replied
"Can I try some?"
"Sure, take your pick." Hatter scanned the container, reaching for one, in particular, it was the sweet dessert called Purin.* He took a bite out of the pudding before his eyes lit up.
