Chapter five: Betrayal

The chirping sounds from outside get Felix's attention when he feels himself waking up from his peaceful sleep. A frown appears on his face at the pain he feels in his head. It feels like his head could totally explode right now. When did he even get this migraine? Ah yes, last night. The boy opens his eyes and stares at the ceiling while trying hard to remember how he got home, in his comfortable bed. Nothing comes to his mind, the events that may have happened after he met Sam being long gone in his mind. It's like the taller drugged him, yet Felix didn't remember anything bad happening so far. He just remembers the anxiety that was eating him alive while meeting everyone in that building.

Suddenly, it hits him. "Shit!" the blond yells, sitting up almost immediately. "That bitch yeeted me out of the window! What the fuck? How am I even still alive?" he whispers the last part and looks at his hands with a confused expression written on his freckled face. The man gazes upon a scar he has never seen before on the back of his now grazed hand, ending up analyzing it carefully. It looked like a flower, perhaps a rose? A sigh leaves his ajar lips, the scowl he had on his face turning into a soft gaze. He didn't know why but he felt touched by the beautiful sight.

After a couple of minutes of staring at the scar on his hand, the thought of letting Mr. Hwang know about what happened last night comes to his mind. The blond wanders his hand on the surfface of his bed with the intention of finding his phone. He frowns when he doesn't find it and puts his hands inside the pockets of his pants.

The boy finally finds it and takes it out, ending up dialing Mr. Hwang's number and calling him. After two beeps, the brunet answers the call with a smile on his face.

"Felix! I'm so glad you called. How are you?"

"I need to tell you something, Hyunjin."

"What? What's wrong? You sound exhausted." the excitement in his voice slowly fades away, a worried expression stuck on his face.

"I went there last night. I'll tell you what happened later. Can I come to your office? It's better if I say it face to face."

"Oh? Of course, Felix. I'll be waiting for you."

The blond ends the call immediately and gets up from the bed with a frown on his face. "I sound exhausted? But that's just the way I sound all the time." he mutters to himself as he sees himself in the mirror that has its place beside Felix's bed. He looks at himself and sees the dark circles under his eyes, his tangled hair and the clothes he's wearing, all wrinkled. A sigh leaves his lips as he puts his hand on his head, gently grabbing onto his own hair. "How am I going to leave my house looking like this?"

After a lot of thinking and blankly staring at the wall before him, the blond takes a hot shower and wears something casual, deciding to put some light makeup on after, to cover what he didn't want anyone to see. Felix never found dark circles ugly when others had them. He always thought they were beautiful because they hide someone's story, someone's sleepless nights and the reasons behind them. But sadly, when Felix had them, he absolutely hated them and always wanted to cover them up so no one would be able to see them.

While thinking hard about what he's going to say to Mr. Hwang, the blond leaves his apartment, later on, the building, too.

Felix tiredly opens the door that said "Mr. Hwang", his thoughts still running through his mind. He still didn't know what he'd say to the brunet, but one thing was clear: he was not going to tell him the truth. If he would, suspicions would start to go around the brunet's head since Sam didn't let the  blond die.

"Felix! Thank God you're okay! How did it go? Did you find something?" he smiles as his eyes meet the serious boy before him.

He takes his time closing the door and sitting down on the low chair beside the desk. His mind is completely messed up. If disappearing from the surface of earth with a snap of the fingers was a thing, he would definitely do that. Betraying his new friend by lying to him about such an important thing was something he never wanted to do, but he felt like he just had to do it.
