Chapter seven: The fear is back once again

Here he was, faced with the building he thought he would never visit again. The uneasiness the blond is feeling is so much he almost can't handle it. His anxiety is over the roof, his heart is beating faster than it ever did before.

After a long time of the boy just staring at the hotel, he feels a light pat on the back which gets his attention. "It'll be fine, Felix. You can trust me on this one, at least." the older says with a reassuring smile on his face while his eyes are fixed on the other's scared expression.

Felix just nods and takes a big breath in before taking small steps towards the place he hated the most. He would be lying if he said he wasn't curious about what was about to happen, yet he was still indescribably anxious about it, too.

After a couple of minutes, the two men finally get to the elevator and enter it, the older pressing the button that said eight. A shiver runs down Felix's spine when he remembers the eighth floor was the one he fell out of when Sam harshly pushed him out of the window. Felix is filled with traces of uncertainty, not being so sure if he should just do it or if he should go back home to his comfortable bed and forget about it all.

With a slightly scared expression on his face, the blond taps his foot on the floor of the elevator that has its doors open still, making the decision of staying and seeing what's really going on. After all, he's a detective and he's definitely not new to this kind of stuff. He is used to being put at risk, to putting his life in danger just to find out the truth.

A couple of painfully quiet minutes later, the two finally reach the last floor. The door opens, the sound of people talking making its way to Felix's ears. He widens his eyes when the voice of a certain person sounds inside the room.

"You're back, Chris?" the red haired male yells, a frown added to his face. "Did you bring someone? I thought we agreed on not bringing people we fuck, here." he yells again after sensing someone else's presence. Since the other six men were situated in the right side of the room, the wall was blocking Sam's way of seeing the elevator area. He wasn't able to see who really was there, neither were the other ones who were now sitting around him, laughing.

"Can you shut the hell up for a second, Sam?" the blue haired man yells back but quieter and shakes his head at the boy's choice of words. "Don't listen to him. He's probably just joking around." he directs his words towards Felix who was taken aback by how comfortably the two men were talking to each other. The blond just puts on a one-line smile to assure the older he was fine with it.

Felix and Christopher finally move from the spot they were initially in and walk towards the others. The moment Felix entered the six boys' eyesight, their eyes widened and gasps were heard from some of the members.

"Felix? You're here?" Lewis speaks with a shocked expression on his face, his mouth hanging open.

"Since you can see me, of course I am." the blond awkwardly chuckles, a wave of nervousness washing over him.

"Chris, what is he doing here? I thought you said we should've gave him time before bringing him back here." Sam scowls, irritated by Christopher's sudden action of bringing Felix in their hideout without telling anyone.

"Yes, and? I am the leader and I make the decisions that have to be made. He was ready to come here again and meet us. I don't see a problem with Felix being here." the oldest raises his voice as he feels him own body starting to fill with anger.

"Actually.." Felix starts but is interrupted by Christopher.

"Felix, my dear, you needed answers. You were more than confused about the whole situation. That's why I felt like you were ready. And you really are. Because nothing bad will happen to you. I promise. I have been protecting you my whole life, I wouldn't lie to you and let something bad happen to you now." the man's voice and gaze softens the moment he lands eyes on Felix which gives the blond a reason to feel more protected and safer than he thought he was. The younger just nods as a small smile appears on his face.
