Chapter fifteen: One of his secrets

A groan left Christopher's lips as he moved to the other side of his bed. His mind was full of unwanted thoughts, negative thoughts he didn't need, especially now. Today was the day he's been waiting for since the moment Felix entered his team, and Christopher couldn't help but feel guilty for what he was about to tell his younger friend. A part of him was glad it was finally happening, but the other part was screaming at him not to do it. To not tell Felix.

With small, slow movements, the man succeeds to get out of bed and go to the elevator. A short while later, he is faced with the door to Felix's room. After a couple of knocks, the door finally opens, revealing Felix himself. The boy was smiling from ear to ear, his tired self from a day ago being long gone. "Hey, Chris! You look tired, did you just wake up?" the blond asks, concerned, as he moves aside to let Christopher enter his room. The older just humms in agreement and falls back on the bed, but this time on Felix's.

"Today's a long day. I hate it whenever I have to wake up earlier than twelve." he mumbles as he closes his eyes.

"It's one in the afternoon, Chris." the blond says and chuckles after seeing Christopher basically jump off the bed.

"Shit. I didn't know it was that late." the older mutters and scratches his head lightly before looking up at the one in front of him. "Can we talk for a bit?"

After seeing Felix nod in agreement, the blue haired man sits back down on the bed and pats the space beside him. Felix knits his eyebrows together at the sight but doesn't overthink it too much, sitting down beside his so-called friend. Christopher sighs nervously whilst closing his eyes, trying to put the words together in his head.

"Look. There's this thing I've been meaning to tell you since you told me about your new power." as he speaks, the older makes eye contact with the one before him, and for a second, regret washes over him. But it's too late, he has to tell him. "I.N, the one you know, is not the one who's always been in this group." the man stops the moment he sees Felix's confused expression, and looks away. "One day, we messed with someone we shouldn't have. The guy has powers, just like us. In fact, he has the power you have of travelling from an universe to another. He took our friend, the real I.N, and sent him to a place we can't reach. In return, he gave us another person with the same face and name from another universe. He thinks we don't know he's a different person, but we've been knowing this whole time."

After telling the blond the whole story, Christopher looks to the side and sees Felix's shocked face. His mouth is wide open and his eyes are widened. The younger doesn't know what to think, since the whole information is so overwhelming for him. All sorts of emotions are felt by the latter, his whole body tingling at this new information.

"I know this is a lot to take in, but it is the truth. I've been meaning to tell you but I just couldn't find a good moment. I figured this was a good time to explain since you are the only one who can truly bring the real I.N back. And again, I know this is a lot, and I want you to know that you don't have to do it if you don't want to. I just wanted to ask you to do it because we all really miss I.N. This stranger is nothing like what I.N was. And we're scared our actual friend is in danger since the man who sent him there was nowhere near a nice guy, nor was he our friend." as he finishes his short speech he's been planning on his mind, Christopher gets up from the bed and looks down at Felix. "Just, please, consider doing it. I really don't want my friend to get hurt anymore."

After voicing the last words he had in his mind, the man crouches in front of Felix and looks up at him with pleading eyes, hope remaining in them. The blond looks in his eyes, and for a moment, he could see tears forming in them. A sigh leaves Felix's lips before noding slowly. "I'll think about it."
