Chapter twenty-three: Meaningful night
Felix opens his eyes as a smile approaches his lips at the sight of Jeongin peacefully lying on his own bed. The blond jumps on top of him, taking the younger by surprise. "Felix! What are you doing here?" he says quite loudly whilst chuckling at the other's sudden reaction.
"Just wanted to see you. I missed you so much!" the blond utters with a one-line smile on his face as he embraces the younger in a warm, tight hug.
"I missed you, too, Lixie." the younger mutters as he closes his eyes, throwing his arms around the one on top of him.
"Uhm. Hey, Jeongin? I'm sorry for what happe..." Hyunjin begins as he opens the door, the latter interrupting his own self with a gasp. "Well, who do we have here?"
At the sight of the older's smirk and the sound of his sarcastic tone, Jeongin pushes Felix off himself and sits up on his bed. "Lix, leave! Now!" the brunet exclaimed desperately whilst shaking the blond with his hand on the arm. The latter looks confused at his friend before his gaze falls upon the one standing in front of the closed door.
"Is that supposed to be Sam?" he whispers to Jeongin with confusion evident in his expression.
"My name's Hyunjin. I assume you're Felix?" the older utters when he gets close to the bed, bending over a bit so his face could be at almost the same level as the others'. His smirk grows way wider the moment he sees the blond before him nod hesitantly. "Nice to meet you, Felix!" the brunet extends his hand and holds eye contact with the one before him. Felix gulps and grabs the taller's hand, shaking it softly.
"Nice to meet you, too." the blond mutters and sighs when Hyunjin tightens the grip. "Have you been treating Jeongin nicely?" he asks after he removes his hand from the older's grip.
The smirk on Hyunjin's lips turns into a small, innocent smile and his relaxed brows knit together as he nods slowly, somewhat confused. "Depending on what you think treating someone nicely is." the man sits down in the chair beside the bed.
Jeongin was watching the whole scene in horror, too scared to say anything. Of course, he might just be overthinking, but his intuition never deceives him. From what Jeongin thinks, Hyunjin is acting all nice right now, so he'd be able to capture Felix much easier. The brunet lowers his head as his eyes get slightly teary. He's way too scared to tell Felix anything. Scared of what Hyunjin could do to Felix before he could travel back. Scared of what could happen to himself if Hyunjin's so-called plan won't work.
The youngest raises his head now, after hearing Felix's threatening voice. "Didn't I personally tell one of your friends to look after Jeongin and to tell all of you to be nice to him unless you wanna die?" the blond raises his voice whilst his hand is gripping on Hyunjin's jaw, the both men standing now. Felix's left eye turns a light shade of green as anger builds up in him. "Respond to my question, wimp!" the younger raises his voice at the sight of the laughing man before him.
"Felix, stop. He's going to hurt you." the youngest says with a pleading expression on his face as he pulls on Felix's sleeve.
"You should listen to your friend, Felix." the tallest utters with a smirk on his face and half lidded eyes. "He knows better, doesn't he?"
The blond harshly takes his hand off Hyunjin's face before looking at Jeongin. "Did they do anything to you?" at the sight of him shaking his head, he squints his eyes and looks closely at his face and body. "Don't lie to me, Jeongin."
"They didn't do anything I couldn't handle." he shrugs and walks back to his bed and lies back down. "I'm used to it anyway."
"Jeongin." Felix says sternly after seeing the nonchalant tone of voice and face the other has.
After talking more with Jeongin, Felix says bye to the two men, glaring at the older and smiling at the younger. Getting back to his original universe, the blond goes back to his room and decides to watch some of his favourite series.
A few episodes later, his peace is disturbed by his bedroom's door opening, Christopher walking in while fidgeting with his fingers, a nervous smile on his face. "Hey." he mutters and sits down beside Felix. "I was wondering if you'd like to hang out tonight."
The blond's bored expression turns happy in just a few seconds as the corners of his lips move upwards and his eyes widen ever so slightly. "Of course, Chris." the latter utters in an excited tone before urging Christopher to leave the room.
Taking his sweet time, Felix starts doing his makeup. Getting now up from his mirror, he walks to his closet to find fancy clothes he could wear. Knowing it's getting warmer outside makes the blond even more excited since he can now wear the clothes he wants, not the ones he needs to wear to not catch a cold. Sighting upon a cropped pink sweater, he grins from ear to ear. The blond puts the sweater on and makes an outfit around it, smiling proudly at himself whilst looking at himself in the mirror at the end. He calls Christopher, and, not so long after, the two find themselves walking on the streets of Seoul, one beside the other.
An innocent smile is plastered on both the guys' faces while they're walking inside a park, the poor lighted street lamps along with the tall trees and the wooden benches bringing a nostalgic, romantic vibe. The nighttime sky with its shiny stars and full moon comforts the both of them as they walk in silence. Laughters sound inside the quiet park as they sit down on a bench and start talking about this and that.
A wave of silence falls upon the two as they admire the view surrounding them, silently enjoying their time together. The older opens his mouth, yet he closes it back. A sigh leaves his rosy lips as he turns to face Felix. The ends of his lips curl up into an innocent smile whilst he gazes upon the one he cares about. The sight of his shiny eyes, pinkish freckled cheeks and pouty lips leave the older speechless as he keeps staring at the other's beautiful face.
The blond frowns at the feeling of being stared at, and, with furrowed brows, the boy looks at the one beside him. His already pink cheeks turn a darker shade of the same colour. He widens his eyes and looks away, the small distance between the two almost taking his breath away. "Why are you staring?" he murmurs with pouty lips while looking at his hands sitting on his lap.
"You're beautiful." the older utters quietly and puts his hand on the other's cheek, making the blond look at him. "May I kiss you, Felix?"
At the sight of the younger nodding, Christopher softly nods to himself before taking a big breath in and closing the gap between their lips. This is not their first kiss, yet for the older, it does feel like it. Tonight is special. Tonight is the night he's been preparing for. Perhaps he'll be disappointed with how Felix will react or perhaps it'll be the other way around. He doesn't know but he's willing to risk it. Because he's been hiding it for way too long now.
As the two part from each other, Christopher brings Felix close, their foreheads touching. With their eyes closed, they enjoy the presence of each other.
The older sighs and moves farther while opening his eyes, his hand still caressing the blond's cheek. "I have something important to tell you. But promise you won't freak out, okay?"
Felix nods while smiling ever so slightly. "What is it, Chris?"
"Look, I know this might sound stupid since you've been only knowing me for such a short time." the older begins and takes a deep breath in. "But I have feelings for you. And not the type of feelings that go away after a few days. I don't only like you, Felix." the man's smile gets wider as he closes his eyes for a few seconds and takes a deep breath in. "I love you."
The blond's eyes widen slightly before they soften. He hugs the older, bringing his face on the crook of the other's neck.
After sitting like that for a few more minutes, small drops of water start to drop to the ground. They part from each other and look up at the cloudy sky. "We should go." Christopher utters with a grin.
Nodding, Felix gets up from the bench along with Christopher. They start walking back towards their hideout in a fast pace. At one point, the rain got worse. The two men were both drenched in water from head to toe.
They look at each other and nod, grabbing each other's hand. The two start running hand in hand while laughing, not caring about the judging looks they're getting from the passersby in the steets.
