"Now that I have your full attention let's begin," Dr. Shinso wastes no time getting into the details of the last few days.
"It wasn't exactly fun getting knocked out while my teacher is being attacked by high intensity flames," Hiroko groans trying to get out of her chair again with no luck.
The physical therapist arrives, unphased by Hiroko trying to get out of the chair. Clearly Recovery Girl warned the staff of Hiroko's antics. The woman simply pulls the brake lever, so the chair won't shift.
Hiroko blushes, "Um- thanks. That would probably help."
The physical therapist smiles and then sits in a chair nearby to supervise Hiroko's impromptu therapy. Hiroko is barely able to stand. Her legs shake under her own weight. Dr. Shinso hears every curse word she thinks just trying to get to the parallel bars.
"The heroes weren't overexaggerating about being raised by a sailor," Dr. Shinso brings her attention back to him causing her to fall forward.
"Damn it. You purposefully distracted me, didn't you?"
"I don't think you can claim to be distracted when this time is allotted for psychological therapy," he retorts.
"Touché," Hiroko laughs. "Ok I'll focus more."
"Tell me about how you felt when Twice talked about your father."
"You aren't even trying to ease me in are you?"
He shakes his head no, "Your mind tells me you prefer a straightforward approach. Also, you only have a few things to work out from what I can tell."
"Really?! Like what?"
"Family, relationships, self-prospective, and carrying too much blame," he states bluntly. "You surprisingly have already processed the physical obstacles to come and the villains' intentions."
"Wow! Straight for the jugular again. Yeah, definitely don't want to talk about those. Can I pretend to not understand villains instead?"
Dr. Shinso stares unblinking and unemotional, "We will start with your friends rescue attempt. When Bakugo escaped, but you didn't."
Hiroko didn't even try to get up she laid there thinking before speaking, "I question if they were more there to save Bakugo. I also debate if I gave up too early when I was pulled from them, but all I could think was better me than one of them."
Dr. Shinso writes a few things down, "You are rather honest for a teenager."
Hiroko burst into laughter but cringes when the laughter irritates her wounds, "Guess one perk of growing up around villains. You prove you have nothing to hide or be an exceptional liar. I only learned to lie about my background. Everything else seemed silly to lie about."
"Interesting," is all he says leaving Hiroko to question his meaning behind such a simple phrase.
They continue to discuss the events of the kidnaping and hostage situation. Hiroko becomes rather relaxed being able to speak without the worry of being judged. And knowing Dr. Shinso can read minds sees no point in trying to hide her past or lie.
A loud shout gains all their attention to the door. Even the quiet physical therapist quirks an eyebrow at the commotion.
"KACCHAN! What are you doing here?" Midoriya shouts from the hall.
"None of your business nerd," Bakugo growls making it clear to Hiroko that he is right next to the door.
Hiroko's face turns red recognizing the voices, When did he get here? Did he hear what I said about the rescue? Oh no what if he believed Twice and thinks I'm a villain or worse... to see how weak I am right now.
