Brick:
"Come on! Let's have some fun, na?" Brick asked his friends Gear and Four.
He was so bored of uni, and now that it was finally over, he wanted to have fun for the entire summer!
Gear and Four quickly agreed, and so they all went out to some bars and clubs for days and days in a row. All their families are well off, so it's not like they have to count how many hundreds of thousands of baht they spent.
Brick, Four, and Gear knew they gave off "bad boy" vibes and they used it to their benefit, especially when getting people into bed. But despite this, Brick still wanted to receive good grades, something pretty unexpected of by someone like him.
He worked hard because he enjoyed his course and he had even built a good relationship with his teachers, however, studying made his brain hurt so much that he could barely think after finishing his work for the day. So, he would go out and blow off some steam with his friends.
Brick had to admit, sometimes they liked to take it too far. He didn't know why, but knowing that him and his friends could fool someone, or had power over people, made them feel powerful and important. He also knew this wasn't a good thing, but he couldn't help seeing how far he could take things.
From a young age, it was obvious to him that people only became his friend because he was smart, or rich, or good looking, so he thought, "if they can take advantage of me, why can't I take advantage of them too."
Brick had never taken "advantage" of someone, he had simply looked for people to make fun of, or put down because they were continuously leeching off of him. He had never needed to take advantage of people physically, because he was simply that good looking that people would immediately be attracted to him, and most approached him themselves. All he simply did was never mention the next step, therefore, he was never wrong for not committing. Gear and Four understood him because of their similar backgrounds and personalities, so of course, they quickly became close friends when they met at uni.
The most Brick had ever done was post someone's secret that they told him on his school's student gossip page, with the full names of everyone involved. No one except the person who had told him knew that he had done it, but that same person had stolen his new Gucci shoes, so he didn't care. Him and his friends laughed about this incidence and its fall out for days, so it was totally worth it.
Some of his friends (obviously not Gear and Four) would tell him that his personality would land him in big trouble one day.
Little did he know, that the trouble might stick with him for life.
Day:
Sigh. Day flopped onto his coach, drained from the full day of work, plus worrying about his brother. As he rubbed his temple, he checked his messages and saw a text from Night telling him that he and Gus have just finished moving his stuff into Gus's room.
After replying, Day shut his eyes and accidentally fell asleep.
He heard a loud screeching sound, then a massive crash, followed by silence.
He looked around himself, but he couldn't see anything clearly. His blurred vision filled with grey and red as panic began to overwhelm him. He screamed for his mum or his dad, then for his brother. He realized he couldn't hear anything either. Day then started to cry; it felt like he knew something was wrong but had no idea what it was. After what felt like an eternity of crying, his vision cleared, and in front of him, he saw two limp hands holding each other, laying near the gear stick of the car. As he slowly moved his small shaking body forward, he saw that the limp hands belong to his parents. Suddenly, as the realization of what had occurred hit his young mind, Day started screaming.
And with a jolt, the screaming woke Day up. He felt like someone had put their arm through his chest and pulled out his heart. He realized he had been crying in his sleep and moved to wipe the tears away.
Frustrated with his minds' weakness, he aggressively pushes his hair back, and with a sharp exhale, gets up to start cooking his dinner.
As he cooks he feels himself relax, the smell of nutritious food helping him focus on the moment and not the past.
He hasn't that nightmare in over 5 years, yet for some reason it decided to come back now. At the worst time possible. He decided it was because of stress and exhaustion...he didn't believe in signs and shit like that.
Day had just recently stopped working for Khun Kamol, was running his salon full time, and was extremely worried about his brother not living with him.
Leaving his job was also taking a toll on his mind as he had to adjust they way he thought to become more normal. If he didn't, his way of solving things would have landed him with probably a hundred dead bodies to deal with.
Running a business was also a lot harder than he had imagined, especially when it came to controlling his anger and frustration when dealing with stupidness, or having to be polite and maintain a business smile that seemed genuine.
And the issue with Night. Well, it wasn't an issue, but Day had been taking care of his brother for years and single-handedly raised him. So, he couldn't help but stress all day and night when his little brother was away. At least Night understood him and called everyday, but he couldn't shake off the feeling that he should be with his brother, should be protecting his brother from something...but he didn't know why.
Three weeks later, as Night's academy program was coming to an end, Day decided to use his weekend to relax. So he decided to drive to Bangkok to race at Nan's circuit to release some steam, and to check in on his brother and drive back home with him.
After he had gotten to the race track, Nan got Day started and they then went out for a couple of drinks and to catch up as they hadn't seen each other for a while.
The next day, he woke up in his hotel room at around 7 am in the morning due to an annoying sound coming from his phone.
He was getting a call from his brother.
"Why is he calling this early?" Day asked himself, confused as Night usually liked to sleep in on the weekends.
He looked at the figure sleeping next to him. The young man had approached him asking if he could join their table and well, Day could tell what he had wanted, and he wanted it too, and there was no point in wasting time, so they had pretty much immediately gone back to Day's hotel room.
When Day picked up the phone, his eyes immediately widened with shock. His fist started to shake from anger but all he could do was take long deep breathes as he told his brother, "wait there for me."
"Don't worry. I'm here. I'll always be here for you."
"I love you, Night. So please just wait with Gus for me, don't do anything irrational right now, and I'll be there to fix everything."
