Day's P.O.V.

He instinctively wrapped his arms around my neck, fearing that I wouldn't be able to hold his weight alone.

I could tell - even though I knew he would never admit it - that I was causing his heart to flutter.

A small smile formed on both our faces as he looked into my eyes, and I into his.

I let him go gently, allowing him to stand in the shower while leaning up against the wall. I could tell he tried not to wince from the pain he felt.

Watching him stand there with his head back, whole body struggling to stay standing, I felt kind of guilty. I had never caused any of my past partners this much pain - without consent. I didn't know if he resented me or not, but I hoped he had enjoyed it as much as I had.

Actually I don't need to hope, I know he enjoyed it. I thought to myself with a smirk on my face.

I quickly left to grab some towels for us and then I wrapped my arms around him, holding him up. His body naturally relied on mine and I don't know why but that small of act of trust had made me happier than almost anything in my life - excluding Night and my parents.

We were already completely naked so there was nothing to remove.

I turned on the shower and from Brick's face, I knew he panicked because he thought he had clothes on. When he looked down at himself, his eyes widened and his face flushed red.

I looked at him adoringly because how could someone be so cute.

Letting out a little laugh, I reassured him, telling him that we were only going to shower, nothing more.

"I'm not a monster." I said in a sarcastically offended tone, my face almost pouting. Wait, did I just act cute? What is this little man doing to me?

I was worried that he was changing me...in just around 24 hours. But that thought instantly vanished when I heard his beautiful laughter.

I had made him laugh. I made him happy. That thought left me with no regrets and he wrapped his arms around my neck again, letting me turn on the shower and wash us both.

When we finished showering, we got dressed, and by that time it was so late that I decided we could just have brunch.

He offered to cook but I knew he couldn't so I told him no.

"B-But I feel guilty. Let me help at least?" Brick asked, a little nervous to voice his thoughts, but clearly feeling more confident after yesterday.

I smiled softly and told him that I appreciate the incentive but maybe some other day when he can stand up without his legs shaking.

Realizing the ridiculousness of his own request, he nodded quietly, again embarrassed.

He's so easy to tease.

When Brick and I had just finished our food, his phone began to rang. We could hear it from inside the bedroom.

He was looking at me like he was worried that if he got up to answer the phone, I'd kill him.

Was I really that scary, I thought to myself. I had this awful gnawing feeling in my chest and I wasn't sure what it was but boy did I not like it.

I nodded my head quickly to let him know he could pick it up when I saw that he was still waiting for my answer.

Smiling, he quickly got up from the seat and rushed to the room. I heard the ringing stop and Brick's whining before he called back whoever had called him.

I walked over slowly towards the bedroom and leaned against the door frame. Wanting to give him a little space but also wanting to not be left out.

Also, I wanted to make sure it was just a friend...because if he had slept with me, despite being with someone else, I didn't know what I would do.

I wanted to know more about him. Because there was no way he was just an awful guy who made shitty bets that could potentially ruin people's lives.

There had to be more to him.

I watched him answer the phone, tracking his emotions as they went from calm, to shocked, and then to excitement, as his eyes lit up.

He told the person to wait and turned to me. I cocked an eyebrow at him.

"Uh, Day - ah, I mean, P'Day - Gear called and he and Night are going on a two day trip with some friends...and they were wondering if I wanted to go. T-They said I could bring whoever I was with. Do you maybe want to go?" Brick asked me.

Of course I already knew about the trip and I was hoping Night wouldn't ask me to go, big groups really aren't my thing...but I could see in his bright eyes how desperately he was hoping I would say yes.

How can I say no when you look at me like that?

I thought about it and I realized, I would get to be at the beach, with Brick...and we would probably share a room because clearly I'm not going to hide whatever we have.

Oh...I could already imagine having sex with him while we look at the beach, the sound of waves mixing with our moans.

I liked the sound of that and I nodded my head before saying, "sure."

He quickly went back to phone and his voice and laughter echoed in the otherwise quiet room. The sound filled my heart with warmth.

When he ended the call, he surprisingly looked up at me, shy but also excited, and thanked me softly.

I wanted to hold him and kiss him, but I stopped myself. There was something I'd have to tell him first.

"I'll go with you...but I'm not going to hide what we have."

"W-what!" Brick said, shocked as he was clearly not expecting this.

When he regained himself, he asked, "What is it, that we actually have?"

He had said it so quietly I had thought he hadn't meant to say it out loud. But when he slowly looked up at me, stepping closer, I realized he was serious.

"Hmm...I guess you can say we are hooking up - in the talking stage - whatever you want to say. Well, actually you can say it's just something casual for now. That would be more accurate." I answered, and I could see the slight hurt in his face at my words.

Why is he hurt? I wondered, slightly dazed by the revelation that maybe he wanted to be more than that. Hadn't we agreed to just do whatever felt right in the moment?

But a few seconds later, his face turned into one of shock.

He hadn't expected himself to feel that way.

God, his expressiveness was adorable but also frightening - how was he going to survive in this cruel world.

"Okay. That makes sense I guess. I reckon my friends would understand and respect my decision, though they will probably tease me quite a bit because - well you probably already know my dating history." He said, stepping even closer to me.

His boldness was a little surprising to say the least. I guessed this was what he was normally like with his partners.

I knew what he wanted but I was not going to give in this easily.

By doing nothing, I forced him to have to hug me first, and he did, gently weaving his hands in between my torso and arms, before wrapping around me.

I hugged him back softly and he whispered into my chest, "thank you."

I had a feeling that he was looking for the strength to face the upcoming embarrassment and confession he would have to make to his closest friends.

I didn't know if what I was thinking was right or not, but I really didn't want to ruin the moment, so I just tightened my grip on him, hoping he would understand that whatever he had thanked me for, I appreciated it.

We both relaxed in each others arms before I slowly pulled back, leaned down, and kissed him softly, and then whispered against his lips that we should probably pack.
