Third Person P.O.V
Several minutes later, Day looks over at Brick, who is now asleep, head on his shoulder, probably due to the stress of the situation before. He gently tucks Brick's hair behind his ear, as he sees him visibly irritated even in his sleep. He can't resist the soft smile that makes its way onto his face.
"What is it about you that drives me so mad?" Day wonders to himself, genuinely perplexed. He has been attracted to people before but never has he tried to gain commitment, loyalty....or love.
Day sighs and leans back on the couch, soon falling asleep as well. His head gently resting on top of Brick's.
An hour or so later, they both jolt awake because of the sound of the doorbell. Both still sleepy and dazed, Day offers to go get the door...only to regret it when he see who it is.
Immediately sobered up, Day glares at the person at the door.
"Where is Brick?" The person asks, his tone rude and disinterested in Day.
Day gives a threatening look to the uninvited guest that says "Really? Do you want to test me?".
"Who is it, P'Day?" Brick asks, sleepily from the couch.
"It's your dear friend. Come, greet them." Day replies, annoyed that he and Brick won't be able to clear the air until this nuisance leaves.
Day turns around and walks into the kitchen to drink some water and calm down, as his anger from earlier surfaces and compounds with this added annoyance, just as Brick approaches the door.
"Ai'Gear!" Brick happily shouts.
Gear immediately smiles and hugs Brick, and instead of ignoring the death stare Day is giving him, he winks at him.
Day is immediately shaking with rage. He does not trust the guy yet because of how he hurt his brother, and here he is jokingly flirting with his own best friend and Day's boyfriend!
Brick unfortunately doesn't notice Day's massive shift in emotions and excitedly invited Gear in because even though they see each other often, he loves spending time with his close friends.
"What's up? Come in!" Brick pulls Gear into the dorm with his hand. He is about to lead them both to the couch but notices Day grabbing a jacket, he must've left on a stool near the kitchen platform, and walking towards the door.
"P'Day, where are you going?" Brick asks, confused and worried.
"I'm sick of your 'friends' ruining our time together and since you seem so excited to see this one, I might as well leave. I don't want to ruin your time with people you can see any other day." Day mentally rolls his eyes, as he puts on his leather jacket, and leaves before Brick can get a word out.
Day luckily remembered his keys and decides to drive to see his friend Nam who runs a bakery/sweets shop nearby.
Meanwhile, Brick is left staring at the closed door, as his eyes begin to water.
"What did I do?" Brick turns to ask Gear, his voice shaky.
"Nothing, Brick. Your boyfriend just can't take a joke." Gear replies.
"W-what joke?"
"It's nothing, I just jokingly winked at him while hugging you." Gear rolls his eyes.
"You did what?!" Brick is feeling shaken up. He knows Day was already on edge from his controlling tendencies that he was resisting while with Pete, and so he realises that Gear just pushed Day over the line.
Brick punches Gear lightly and tells him that he has to make up for this in the future.
They both sit down on the couch and Brick tries calling Day. He calls once, nothing, twice nothing...seven times, still nothing.
At this point, he's pissed too.
Clearly, Day should recognise that if someone is calling you SEVEN times, you should answer the GOD DAMN PHONE!
He throws his phone down on the couch and screams. "Ahh! This is so frustrating! Why can't we have a normal day together?!"
Brick can't help but cry, feeling an overwhelming amount of pressure to fix things...but also anger because why couldn't Day have just stayed, then he would've realised that Gear was just teasing Day.
Little did he know, Day left because he didn't want to physically hurt Brick again. He knew if he had stayed, he would have forced Gear to leave...and then figured out what to do with Brick. He had a feeling it would've involved a lot of yelling and fighting.
So, he left.
At Nam's store, he sat down with a coffee and just caught up with his old friend...while Brick was being told to end the relationship.
"Brick, I don't think you and Day make a good couple. He is incredibly toxic and just wants to control everything you do and know absolutely every little thing so he can track you, like a psycho! You can find someone better...maybe not as attractive, but someone who treats you better, gets along with you better, and someone you can have a happy, drama free future with." Gear tries to reason with Brick. He only has good intentions but he doesn't realise how deeply Brick and Day feel for each other, especially after their confessions about their pasts.
"If you're going to give me terrible advice, you can leave too!" Brick yells, frustrated and scared that Gear might be right.
"I'm sorry Brick. But look, you can't let yourself keep getting stepped on. We are all young, things happen, people change, and so do relationships. And sometimes, we need bad ones in order to grow and find healthier partners." Gear tries to reason with Brick but he has had enough.
"Look, forget about it. I don't want your advice nor will I follow it because your relationship probably isn't butterflies and rainbows either. And yes, people change, that is why I'm still with him...because he is making an effort to change, just like you. Now...why are you here in the first place?" Brick's heart feels a bit lighter after defending Day and all he wants is to move on from this topic and not argue with his friend.
"Oh, right. I just wanted to check in...andddd invite you to a party I'm having at my place this weekend. It's going to be a massive one, so you have no choice, you gotta come." Gear cheerfully says, wiggling his eyebrows.
"Uh...okay, fine. I'll be there. If there isn't anything else, can you leave before Day comes back?" Brick says in a bratty tone, although Gear knows this is just how he normally is. He chuckles, happy that Brick wasn't that upset with him, and then agrees to leave.
- Time Skip -
It's been a couple hours now, since Day left and Brick has even ordered lunch for them, waiting for his boyfriend to come back. He tried calling and sent several messages telling him that lunch is ready and to hurry back but received no reply; the screen showed that Day didn't even bother looking at his texts.
He had been worrying so much his head ached...and then, he heard the doorbell ring.
/Get ready for the next part because I think it's going to be *chef's kiss*/
