Third Person P.O.V.

Day had come back to find Brick curled up in a ball right in front of the door, eyes red and tear stains glistening on his pale, yet flushed cheeks.

Immediately panic over took him.

Day did not know Brick would have a reaction like this. He thought the other person was just a brat who would've been angry for being locked up and given him the silent treatment or something...this was far worse than that.

Gods, he hated himself sometimes.

How could he do this?

He wondered to himself.

As he bent down to pick up his lover, Day noticed how light Brick felt and how his body shook slightly from the cold.

It had been a few hours since he had left and Brick had been lying on a wooden floor.

Day gently placed Brick on the bed, covering his body with a thick blanket before sitting down on the floor, back against the bedframe.

A shaky sigh escaped him as he pulled his knees up, hugging them, before tilting his head back to lean on the soft bed.

Apparently they both had a lot to discuss if they were to avoid things like this again.

But..how can he be the one to start the conversation?

He couldn't. He just couldn't do it.

He gulped, before turning his head, still resting on the bed, to peer at Brick as he slept, his breathing soft and slow.

Day decided that would be a conversation for later before going to cook some dinner, which he ended up putting in the fridge - unable to eat - taking a shower and then slipping into the bed, as Brick still hadn't to woken up.

He felt he didn't deserve to touch Brick right now. So he slept as far away as he could without falling off and made sure he wouldn't touch his lover.

After many hours of laying there, nothing on his mind except for Brick's pained expression and cold body, Day finally fell asleep as a single tear slid down the side of his face.

-- Time Skip --

Day awoke with Brick in his arms, the other's face buried in his chest.

He didn't know how that had happened and he knew he should let go, but he couldn't. He wanted to be near Brick - there was just something about him that pulled Day towards him.

It was the reason Day had approached Brick that day at his uni. He had seen the guy and lost his damn mind. He wanted to walk up to him and hold him, hug him, beg and cry for him to come back.

But that wasn't who Day was.

No...he was an emotionless, strong, and fearless man who would never show his weaknesses to others.

So instead, he opted to simply kiss him and hope and pray that Brick would agree without him needing to do much else.

And he was right.

That night, he had celebrated with his friends, at Nan's race track, then at Neil's place.

And now here he was, again, hurting the one person he wanted to actually show care and love for, excluding his brother.

Why? He had wondered all night. Why am I like this?

Day had come up with an answer - he had always known the reason...but he knew that answer was not enough to excuse his actions.
