Brick's P.O.V.

I don't know when I fell asleep but loud, abrupt knocking shocked me awake. As my eyes shot open, I felt strong arms around my waist tighten as a deep, smooth voice whispered on my neck, "Don't." The feeling of his breath sent shivers down my spine and although he pressed his face into my back, I could practically see the smirk on his face.

Sighing, I tried to move around in his grip as the knocking continued, but his grip only tightened.

"Come on, Ai'Day. It might be important. Let go." I tried, hoping my squirming would convince him to let me go.

I heard an irritated sigh before he said, leaning up to whisper into my ear this time in a low voice, "How many times do I have to ask you to call me P'Day?"

I had a feeling if I did it one more time, something was going to go down, so I immediately apologized before repeating myself.

"P'Day, can you please let me go!" I tried to reason with him, forcing as much anger as I could into my voice - which wasn't much because of the embarrassment and heat that went to my cheeks.

Finally, he let go of me but as I stood up from the bed, he sat up quickly and pulled my back down by the arm. I was now on his lap and he took this proximity to place a gentle kiss on my cheek before pulling away and smiling at me softly.

Despite how embarrassed I felt at first, the look on his face immediately washed it away. A smile of my own spread on my face, replicating the one on his probably, and I felt the need to show my feelings back, giving him a quick peck on the lips and then practically running to the door before whoever it was decided to just knock it down.

I turned around to see him sitting there with a cute shocked look on his face and laughed gently at the adorable sight in front of me, before turning back to the door and opening it with an exaggerated sigh.

I saw Gear at the door, a shit-eating grin on his face as he looked at me.

I rolled my eyes at him before aggressively asking, "What?!"

I wasn't angry at him interrupting whatever that was but more so at his obvious intention.

"Nothing. I just wanted to make sure the two of you didn't decided to be holed up together in your room and actually enjoy the beach." Gear said, his expression never changing.

"Plus, everyone is going swimming, then for a walk, and then were having a bonfire. You better be there instead of committing sins." Gear says with a little shrug before turning and walking away while saying to meet on the beach in 15 minutes.

I knew that even if he didn't say it, and despite now having a boyfriend, Gear misses me. And although it has only been a few days, we have spent almost everyday of the last year together, and have never been apart for more than a day. So obviously he was saying all that because he must miss me since I haven't even replied to his texts or seen him in days.

Sighing softly while feeling a little guilty but also a little pleased that someone cared so much about me, I turn back around after closing the door to face Day, who is now sitting on the bed with raised eyebrows.

"You guys sure seem close - flirting with each other like you're dating but sleeping with different people." Day muttered the last part under his breath, but I hear him because of the quietness of the room.

He was almost pouting. Almost.

"Hold on. Are you jealous? Of Ai'Gear?! Who is dating you're brother!" I couldn't help my self from letting my laughter loose. I guess what they say is true; if people don't think you're dating, you aren't really best friends.

For a second I thought I actually saw some light pink on his cheeks, but it vanished as quickly as it appeared.

Quietening down after a few seconds, I look to him and answer is question because he was clearly still waiting - except he was now frowning, which made me feel a little bad about laughing at him.

"Yes, we are close; we hang out almost everyday. And no, we aren't dating, he has a boyfriend and I have...you." I say the last part while looking at the ground, a bit unsure of what to say apart from that to rid his suspicions.

It works because I hear the bed creak slightly, as he must be getting up from the bed, then light footsteps making their way towards me. I look up at him when his feet are in my line of sight and all I see is a big, bright smile.

It was almost as if I was looking at a little kid who was promised ice cream.

It was like his eyes had only innocent hope in them - something I would never expect because despite how handsome he was, there was almost always a small hint of sadness behind those deep brown, slender eyes, even when talking to his precious brother.

The emotion something I hadn't been able to pinpoint until that moment.

I subconsciously lifted my hands to cup his face and I wanted to ask him more - honestly, I wanted to know every single detail about this potentially incredible man in front of me - but I know better.

I know better than to ask something that will definitely ruin the mood - and we aren't close enough yet for him to feel even slightly comfortable telling me something I knew that was close to his heart.

Instead of asking him, I stood on my toes and lightly kissed his lips, letting the touch linger before pulling away and softly whispering, "We should get ready to go."

He just gulped and nodded, gazing deep into my eyes, almost as if he was looking into my soul and reading the meaning behind my actions.

He cleared his throat, but I had a feeling that was to suppress the water in his eyes from dripping down his face, not to clear some sort of awkward atmosphere, and before I knew it, we had changed into our swim wear and were walking down the stairs, to the beach, with two bags.

His hand held mine like a lifeline as we made our way to the group and I had a feeling, despite the smile he had plastered on his face, he was feeling something so deep inside that I would never be able to name it.

However, once we got into the water, his daze seemed to wash away and then...the fun began.

//Hope you enjoyed the chapter. I know Day's personality from the book and show hasn't come into this completely yet, and neither has Brick's, but it's coming. Just enjoy the fluff and wholesomeness while it's there.//
