Brick's P.O.V
After my classes that day, I instantly texted Day's number. We messaged back and forth about random things here and there and he told me that he wouldn't be able to see me in person often because of his business.
He told me he would try his best to drive up whenever he could but I told him not to do it too often and that we could alternate who goes to the other person.
I volunteered to drive to Day's hometown, where the salon is, this weekend.
He agreed but complained that texting was too annoying and that he'd rather call or facetime me...so whenever I was home, we'd facetime, or call when I was out, for the rest of the week.
I also had to shoo away a couple of people who don't respect others' relationships and tried to approach me.
I didn't go with my friends, either, when they went out drinking...because I knew it would bring back what happened at the beach...and I can't risk losing him again.
I did however, hang out with Gear and Four and their boyfriends, Night and Gus (yes Four and Gus are somehow dating now but he refuses to tell me how it happened).
We mostly watched movies, spent time at each other's houses...just with less booze and girls and guys (if you know what I mean).
And eventually, painstakingly, the weekend finally came around.
I had a late-ish class on Friday, so I decided to leave early Saturday morning.
On the drive, Day called and we just talked most of the way (my phone was connected via Bluetooth, don't worry). He had to leave at certain points to attend to customers, but apart from that, he'd stay on the phone, even when doing office work.
I felt my heart start to race as I approached the building that was now in sight. I parked my car a bit away from the windows so he wouldn't see me because I needed a minute or two to prepare. (Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that when Day and I started out, he magically had my car waiting in the driveway of my house. He never told me how much it was or who did it.)
I sat there, staring off into space as I felt my heart beat continue to increase as my breaths came out in rapid bursts of air.
Okay, so not the time to freakout, Brick.
I shut my eyes tight and forced in a deep breath and then blew out my mouth. I did this repeatedly before finally determining that I was at a healthy bpm and wouldn't die of a heart attack at the sight of Day.
I slowly got out of the car, hands trembling as I locked it. My legs felt wobbly but I made sure my face looked composed and neutral.
As I opened the door to the store, a quiet bell went off above my head and my eyes immediately met Day's who was halfway through cutting a customer's hair.
The girl sitting in the chair was pretty, her long black hair in his hands, while her eye's followed his movements, as though entranced - I swear it looked like she was drooling.
I couldn't even smile back at Day, who was beaming at me because the girl in the chair had the audacity to side eye ME when she finally noticed where Day was looking.
I simply crossed my arms over my chest and shifted my attention to Day as I walked closer to him.
But before I could even make it more than two steps, a voice called out to me. "Excuse me, khun. Hi, I'm Belle, what can I help you with today?"
I decided that I wanted to make a good first impression with people Day may care about and that I'd deal with my cough*cough* jealousy later.
"Hi, P'Belle, I'm Brick, you can call me nong, if you like. I'm a friend of Day's, just here to see him."
